Time was Sienkiewicz was on top of the comic world. Hell, back then, it seemed like comics were actually getting somewhere -- and, really, they did. Unfortunately, he does not seem to have followed. So, this book has become a kind of artifact of a man from another time, a pioneer in his own right, and really one of the main reasons comics EVER got to be gorgeous beyond comic standards.
Included herein are random sketches, story ideas & outlines for projects both published (e.g., Stray Toasters, Elektra: Assassin, the Dune adaptation) and unpublished, as well as some rough pages and poster concepts for a handful of things. Mostly black & white, with a colour section in the center.
Still a lovely bunch of stuff, and still a reminder of how powerful simple lines can be made to be.

Gives some great insight into his thoughts and how his mind generally works while also providing the reader with never-before-seen doodles and sketches, as well as works-in-progress that were either refined later or never got past the initial planning stages. An interesting section is the bit on Stray Toasters, which turned out to be completely different from what was presented in this book. I've been a Sienkiewicz fan for some time, and holding this book in my hands is an absolute treat.

I'll be looking through this book often.
