This is the book that made relocating to London from California even remotely possible! It had great neighborhood descriptions that really came in handy when searching for a flat. It also tells you what pubs, shopping, etc are in each neighborhood. A must-have if you're spending any time in London and want to know more than just the typical tourist spots.

It has good reviews of each borough, and almost too much information on each. Excellent book though.

Brilliant book. Very helpful, covers loads of interesting and useful information for the Londoner. The only thing it lacks are more precise maps, but on the other hand - it is for Londoners so they basicaly should now the way around the town.
However, since it discloses and/or organize information on each borough, it does not necessary mean that you know every street around in i.e. Kingston upon Thames, so maps might be handy. At the same time the book would than be much less handy.

Pretty good breakdown of each borough. Too bad I didn't get a chance to check out all of them. With the exception of Bermondsey.
