A photographic journey across the landscape of Russia, from Siberia to the Karakum Desert, displays some of the earth's most glorious natural wonders and intriguing wildlife. TV tie-in.
This one sits on the shelf over my computer, ready to hand; it, and the tv series it accompanied, were the seeds from which the landscape of Blackdog germinated. It's a very well-written, well researched work, both as a natural history and as an armchair travel book. I've read it several times and continue to dip into it, not only for research, but because I simply enjoy it a lot.
