I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about terrible neighbors. But mine is the worst. He’s a Coyote. Not in the literal sense, that would be preferable. Mine is Jake Haydel, star pitcher of the Canaan Falls Coyotes. And his head is as hard as the fastballs he’s known for. Unluckily for me, he’s taken a great fondness in finding ways to drive me insane. And let’s just say he’s as good at that as he is on the mound.
Be My Endgame is Book 2 in the Canaan Falls Coyotes series. Each book can be read as a STAND-ALONE but contain SPOILERS when read out of order. No cliffhangers and a guaranteed HEA.
Don’t you hate when your neighbor is a giant pain in the butt??? For Lucy she’s living this nightmare daily. Already overwhelmed by everything that’s going on in her life, she can’t even catch a break in the privacy of her own home. Unfortunately for Lucy, she has a cocky famous neighbor that likes to drive her crazy with his ridiculous antics. The man is infuriatingly handsome and doesn’t seem to take anything seriously (Including every time she’s turned him down). Unable to take no for an answer, her neighbor has made it his mission to get under her skin. Lucy might have declared them enemies, but Jake Hayden is begging for a chance. It’s only a matter of time before he wears her down.
Lucy is one of those characters that’s dealing with the weight of the world. She’s got a complicated home life, and some really difficult family members. Despite that, she keeps pushing forward in a way that was really commendable. Jake is a golden retriever in human form. He’s protective and works his hardest to keep the people around him happy. Though she wants to resist him, he’s exactly what Lucy needs.
The first book in the series definitely takes the cake, but this one has great qualities. It’s really fast paced and jammed packed with storylines and drama. For some people this left a sour taste in their mouth, but I felt like it moved the story right along. I didn’t mind the quick storylines and felt like everything wrapped up pretty nicely at the end. I enjoyed the ride even if it didn’t quite hit the same as the first one.
This is a great standalone. So much so that the characters from the first book are barely mentioned with the exception of one prominent chapter. While this felt odd at first, I realized it’s a great opportunity for people to jump in at any book and not feel left out. You still get the charm of the Coyote team, but get to really focus on this couple. All in all it’s a good book and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to meeting more members of the Coyote team.
For fans of: ⚾️ insta-love ⚾️ falling in love with the neighbor ⚾️ spice, but not too much spice ⚾️ lots of drama ⚾️ happily ever afters
This book definitely was a really good book but I got to say is the first one was my favorite but this book definitely got me intrigued where I didn’t wanna put it down but I knew I had to go to work and honestly I just was actually dreading today to go to work and I honestly think it was because I was tired but I think it’s because when I started this book I was like why can’t I stay home and read this. So with that said, I would definitely recommend this book in the series especially the first book because I actually just reread the book right before I read this one and honestly I still give it five stars because it’s so far one of my favorite baseball books, but not my ultimate favorite because I got three ultimate favorites. But I gotta say this series is my second favorite series of baseball books so far. But if I was gonna put it in order by each book that my favorite in the baseball series this will be number five in my top 10 so yeah go read it. You won’t regret it P.s. this book keeps you on your toes a lot of juicy drama and people you want to bitch slap.
... I expected more, this book was really fast paced and honestly? A bit too cringe for me, like it was so cliche, and that's from somebody who loves a cliche romance herself. I wish the character had more development... for both of them. I guess it was a love-at-first-sight kind of thing, but again, it was too fast for me. The spice though was okay at best. If you're looking for a really cliche book to hit you in the feels, maybe this book is for you. 3/5
Let me be upfront: the writing wasn’t great, and the story felt rushed and a bit unfinished. The big build-up promised a lot but fell flat when we finally got to it, which was a bit of a letdown. However, despite these issues, I found myself connecting emotionally with Lucy and the way her family’s emotional abuse was portrayed. It’s this connection that made me bump my rating up from a 2 to a 3.
I read the first installment and had to read the second, because, why not?
Jake and Lucy are the picture of annoying neighbors. Jake constantly finds ways to annoy Lucy, whether that's mowing his yard at 2am in a cowboy hat and whistling at her from his balcony. These two are so damn cute.
What Jake doesn't know is that Lucy is struggling within her own home and he might be the only one that can help her get out.
Great book!!! You did a great job with the stories with both family’s. I can’t believe her family was like that. Also I can’t wait to read the next one.
If you think your family has problems, maybe reading about the FMC's family will make you feel better about life. Overall, not a bad book but not really a memorable one either.
