A gang of pirates have gone into business on the Municipal Boating Lake. After Inspector Flannel is kidnapped, the Foxbury Force goes undercover led by Sergeant Bumper. After several duckings and enlisting the services of a tractor, the Force is victorious and the pirates duly penitent.

Graham Oakley is a children's book author and illustrator, most active during the 1960s to 1980s. He is best known for the Church Mice series and also illustrated many book covers in the 60s.

The second Foxbury Force book sees the rather useless police being outwitted by some local pirates. While there are so many characters that they don't exactly get much individual focus, it allows for each picture to be rich and rife with detail as you spot how everyone feels about this particular situation. Another beautiful Oakley picture book.
