Very annoying
The back and forth just irritated me. She wouldn't tell him the truth about why she left him (his evil Mother), and then finds out she's pregnant again and doesn't tell him. His Mother was a piece of work for sure but he cut her off at the end. It just felt juvenile for some reason. They were both celibate while apart and did really love each h other but they blew hot and cold. Both of them. He was just as annoying. I did read the whole thing and even though I didn't truly love it, it was an okay read. I would read this author again.

This is part of the Alpha Billionaire Daddies Series but is read as a standalone. Talk about taking you on an emotional roller coaster, this book will take your take your heart for a spin. Talk about drama, this book is overflowing with it. Lilian and Grayson have a five year old son that she kept from him. It's revealed with a chance meeting where he looked into his son's eyes and saw the 'family eyes'. The story line has twists and some angst. A marriage, another child on the way and she ghosts him again. No spoiler here but this is a great book that will keep your interest until the end. No cliffhanger and an HEA. Grayson Whitlock is stunned to see his ex Lillian when he stops for something to eat. He takes one look at her son Max and knows that he is his. Insisting on a marriage of convenience he can't forgive Lillian for disappearing and that he missed the first few years of Max's life. Despite the animosity their feelings for each other are still strong but they won't admit it. When the truth of what happened finally comes out in the open Grayson has to make a decision. A beautifully written story that will send you on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.

So irritating. The characters go back and forth and aren’t very likeable. She won’t just tell him why she left and he continues to sleep with her while saying he’ll never forgive her. That’s repeated over and over. The whole story was ridiculous. He sees her and his son after five years and immediately tells the kid he’s his dad and then tells her to marry him or he’ll take his kid away. Nice guy…the fact the heroine put up with all of it made her annoying too. I may try others by this author, but leave this one behind.

This is the first book of the author's that I've read but it won't be last.I'm interested in reading the other books that will be a part of the series. What kept me engaged from the story right away was the writing style. I liked how it was descriptive & made you feel what the characters were feeling. If you love second chance stories with a bit of angst told from a dual pov, then this story is definitely for you.
As the title & synopsis reveal, after being left & ghosted by Lillian, Grayson has become damaged. He refuses to allow himself to have feelings for anyone again & rather focus on his work instead. When he unexpectedly meets Lillian again & realizes that he has a son, his anger & hatred grows stronger yet he demands that they get married.He uses avoiding a family scandal as an excuse why but even he doesn't believe it. As they spend time together, his anger & pain don't go away but it doesn't stop them from having a physical relationship. I wouldn't say he thinks things are going well when she asks for a divorce & that things get complicated for him when he finds out she's pregnant again though.
I guess some may not like Lillian for the reason why she left him & how she won't tell him that reason but it's understandable to me, especially because she mentioned how they never talked about their feelings when they were together. So, her doubts about his true feelings for her are warranted. & even though she still didn't believe that he also loved her during their relationship, she still accepted his anger towards her & yearned for things to be different between them. Readers can not like her thinking about wanting to leave him while they were together but her not wanting to be in a loveless marriage, & hurt her child because of it, aren't farfetched reasons.
It may be easier for readers to like Grayson a bit more than Lillian because you can feel his pain over missing her all those years & over losing out on being a father to Max too.I sure teared up a couple of times while reading his thoughts & conversations with Lillian. Because his feelings are open & honest to readers, even if you want them to have a happy ending already, you accept his actions & words as a way to protect himself while still warring with his feelings of hatred & love for her. His thoughts of trying to convince himself that he doesn't love her still add to reader's sympathizing with him.
The only slight complain that I can think about is how his confrontation with the person responsible for Lillian leaving him in the first place felt kind of quick. It's not that it should've been drawn out or that I'm not happy with the resolution but I think we could've got more thoughts from Grayson about the toxicity of that person & how they could be cut off from his life. However, it doesn't affect the story in a bad way & it's just a personal thing for me as a reader. Aside from the romance, I think readers will like Maria, Lillian's friend, Meredith, Grayson's sister, & Lox, Grayson's friend.I know that I want to read more about them. &, as I mentioned before, I also think that readers of secret baby, second chance romances will want to read this one.

This is a great start to the Alpha Billionaire Daddies Series with Lillian a young woman who lives a simple life and Grayson a man from a wealthy family who date for a short time and fall in love never sharing their true feelings with one another before it all falls apart. Lillian discovers she’s pregnant and runs away without a word so 5 years later when Grayson’s on a business trip in upstate NY he comes face to face with Lillian and a mini him, Max. Grayson takes them back to CA and quickly marry to protect them and his family from a scandal. Lillian is not sure how she’ll be able to be so close to Grayson with his rules but she sees how much Max is thriving with his dad being a part of his life. When Grayson’s mom plans a wedding they have no choice but to follow along and things get complicated between Grayson and Lillian as they experience being together but he will not allow himself to forgive or love Lillian. When Lillian takes a break by going to a hotel, Grayson will not let her run away again and he finally gets the truth of what occurred 5 years ago. This gives them a chance to move forward together and discover their lives as a family. These two never stopped loving one another and the pain when separated has caused them both struggles and how they come together for the three of them is something very special! Lillian and Grayson were in a relationship 5 years ago and then one day she up and left. Grayson tried to find her and was torn up over her disappearance. While he is away on business he stops in a Diner and runs into Lillian and her Boss arguing over her working and letting her 4 yr old son, Max stick around as she doesn't have a babysitter. Grayson immediately know who little Max is when he lays eyes on him and then decides that they need to get married so the scandal doesn't look bad on his famous family. He rushes them out to his home in CA and when he does his mother immediately takes charge and plans a wedding as a courthouse wedding will never do... it is all about the appearances.
This couple has chemistry and they both never stopped loving the other. The reason why Lillian left is a mystery to Grayson but she keeps her secret. I loved how Grayson showed real emotions when reflecting on the time when Lillian left him. How they going to get past Lillian leaving him all those years ago and co-parent their child and will they?
Overall a good book, with a great case of friends and family who I am hoping we get to read their stories. I love a good epilogue and this one didn't disappoint.

Whoa this was a rough one for me to get through. Secret babies are one thing, but this one…gah!
Grayson and Lillian were in a relationship and then she just up and disappears. Gray tries everything he can to find her. He's absolutely devastated when nothing turns up. Fast forward 5 years and he's out of town on a business trip, ducks into a diner for some food and hears a familiar voice arguing with her boss. The argument is about her bringing her son to work because she doesn't have a babysitter. One look and, of course, Gray knows that the boy is his.
This story is full of drama, twists, angst, a meddling mother, and a secret that needs to be discovered. I really was gnashing my teeth at Lillian for a LONG time while reading this. I have issues with the ones who up and disappear when they get pregnant, which is why I tend to not read those tropes. I just wanna throttle them! The author did a great job with the story though with bringing cohesiveness to the plot, the steam, and the family structure.

They get married out of convenience so Grayson can get to know his son. But the more time they spend together the more Lillian wants their marriage to be real. Grayson can't forgive her for all the time he has lost with his son or how she left him broken. She can't tell him that she left because of his mother.
But when Lillian finds herself pregnant again, she doesn't want to raise 2 children in a loveless marriage, so she plans to leave again. Will Grayson survive her leaving a second time? Will he let her leave or will he force her to tell him what really happened the first time and clear the air between them?
I really liked this story and would recommend the read. Even though it is set in a billionaire environment, the characters are very down to earth and realistic.

Grayson has arrived New York the Bronx he rents a car stops for a meal that he doesn't get because a woman and her child are standing in front of him arguing with another person as her son holds her hand. The child turns and looks up but not at him and he sees himself in his face and the eyes the family eyes he knew when he heard her voice that it was Lillian and the rage he felt for the woman who left him without a word 5 years ago. He is so happy to meet his son but feels like he hates her because he has the years with his son and he promptly threatens to take the child from her if she will not marry him and go back to Los Angeles. Things don't go well but they work toward something but he told her he could never forgive her so he allows her to get a job but at his company since she went to school for her marketing. Things seem to keep going down hill until Lillian decides she cannot take their situation any more and Grayson is devastated. A love story. HEA. This book stood out to me from all the other billionaire/secret baby romances because of how raw the hatred was from Grayson towards Lillian when he stumbles across her 5 years after she ghosted him and with her is an exact smaller replica of himself. Callie Stevens plays out that hatred so intensely that I could feel the fiery steam rising out of Grayson every time he was reminded of what he missed out on in little Maximilian’s (Max) life. Just as noteworthy was the contrast of Lillian’s sorrow for being the cause and her emotional state of loving Grayson and feeling his hatred towards her. You cannot read this and not feel their emotions pouring out from the pages. Take an emotional rollercoaster ride on this billionaire/secret baby romance with lots of steamy fire and love, great characters, well written book with a HEA. I’m an ARC reviewer: reading for the enjoyment, reviewing so that others may know what to expect and authors may be helped.

Not a fan of this one. Lily and Grayson had a fling, then Lily disappeared. Grayson runs into five years later and she has a four year old. I didn't feel any connection between these two. Grayson sees her and the boy and then just walks up to them tells the boy he is his father and then the boy just goes to this stranger right away. Then he tells Lily that they need to talk and they don't really he just tells her they are going to get married and for her to pack up their stuff and they are flying to live with him. Lily is a doormat she just follows what he says and the story is just them having sex and then him dismissing her and her asking for forgiveness. I'm not a fan of female characters who don't stand up for themselves and get used. He tells her she has freedom but she doesn't. She lives in a state and know nobody, she wants a job and she finds herself working in his company, her friend visits they go out who shows up. Controlling much. They claim to love each other but only to themselves. Then they find themselves right back where they started.

An emotional,steamy,,second chance romance with a sweet HEA for this couple who have gone through a lot to get there.

I could understand Grayson’s hurt and anger at not finding out he had a son, but I thought it was sleazy of him to want any kind of relationship “with benefits” when he professed to hate Lillian over and over. Also, no matter what her reason for leaving, he didn’t give any consideration (or acknowledgment) for how hard her life as a single mother must have been (especially given the circumstances of where and how he meets her again). Lillian, for her part, should’ve been honest with Grayson a lot earlier about why she left. Even if she had just accepted a co-parent relationship, he needed to know what happened. I was glad they both finally acknowledged their priorities.

This is a quick read, perfect for an evening. The characters are so well-rounded, it makes the story just fly.
Grayson is on a business trip to New York and, by chance, encounters his former girlfriend Lillian and Max, the son he never knew they had. Enraged, he demands a marriage of convenience. He approaches her to talk, and they end up at his home. He tells her that they need to marry since neither wants to be without their son. She agrees but its supposed to be a marriage of convenience yet it gets real very quickly. Can they find a way to move forward together?
This is a great story that will hook you in from the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This is the first book by Callie Stevens that I have read and I excited to read more. Great story line that drew me right in. The main characters Grayson and Lillian share a past but she left abruptly and he didn’t know why. This left Grayson bitter and angry and he shut himself off from love. Now several years down the line he sees her again and she has a little boy that shares the same eyes as him. This leaves him even more angry but he insists on them marrying because he doesn’t want this to hurt his family and their reputation. Will old feelings resurface or will this be one big mess? Well a little of both but it is worth reading the book to find out.

I read this as an Arc. Grayson had his heart broken five years ago when Lillian left him. She just up and left, no words, no forwarding address, no anything. On a chance meeting in New York he finds Lilian and his son Max. A son he never knew he had. Anger is the excuse he uses to coerce Lilian into marriage in order for her to keep her son. Lillian does not want a loveless marriage though and now add into the matter another pregnancy because they couldn't keep their hands off one another. Greyson is still so angry and wants to know the truth and when it comes out will there still be a chance at love between them. This is a book worth reading. I loved it!

Grayson finds Lillian after 5 years by chance with a little boy that looks just like him. because of the society he comes from, he forces Lillian to marry him for the sake of his son and the family's reputation. But his anger complicates the marriage. And a 2nd surprise pregnancy also puts a spanner in the works.
This is a charming 2nd chance romance. I really like that Grayson is the one that has to sort his feelings and doesn't just forgive everyone without working through his feelings first. The most charming part is where his son takes first priority and Grayson just falls into the role of father.
This book was a quick read and captured my interest. Callie Stevens didn't disappoint.

This was a page turner for me. Lillian and Grayson have been apart for five years since age left California without warning, breaking his heart. In the book “Damaged Secret Daddy” Grayson and Lillian had a brief affair 5 years ago. Lillian didn’t think it was serious or that Grayson cared about her so she left California and moved to New York. However Grayson was in love with her and was about to propose. While on a business trip in New York Grayson saw Lillian and his son that he had no knowledge about. Grayson demanded that Lillian marry him and move back to California so that he could be a father to his son. Will these two be able to reconnect? This book was steamy. Grayson and Lillian were great characters. I loved the angst. I loved that he had been pining for her all those years. Lovely story I truly enjoyed it.

Lillian left the first time,pregnant, because she was made to feel not good enough for Grayson. Five years later Grayson finds her and their son and demands she comes back with him. Even though he loves her he doesn’t want to admit it for fear of being broken again. Finally the reason she left is revealed and mommy dear gets what she deserves. You will not want to put it down. Hope to see books for Derek, Meredith, and Loxton.

This touching story had me in Grayson and Lillian's corner. Five years ago, she left him without a word as to why. He runs into her at a diner and comes across the son he never knew he had and as a result it opens up the flood gate of emotions he had been holding on to. Lillian can't believe that Grayson is there and doesn't have a reason to withhold the answer to his question about his son. When everything comes out in the open Grayson will question everything he holds on to about his mother.

Your emotions are in for a roller coaster ride with this one. Five years ago Grayson and Lillian were together but she suddenly disappeared and he was desperate to find her to no avail. Now he finds her with a small boy who he instantly recognises as his son. Tension is high, an arrangement is made, there’s a meddling mother, twists, angst, feelings that never went away and don’t forget the reason she disappeared in the first place needs to be explained. A brilliant read with a great HEA.
