I love this Series, it has been amazing and wonderful in its story telling but I am not sure if it is because of the huge gap it had after "the Druids" release or was it the story not being mysterious enough for me.
To be honest, I had begun the Series in the wrong order. I read "The Secret of the Druids" first and I loved it so much, especially with the mystery surrounding Semiramis - I was baffled with the connection the author gave in the end of its chapter (even though fictional).
I was so fascinated by its story, science and connection to Mahabharata that I wanted to read the rest of its books and so, I began with "The Mahabharata Secret and Alexander's Quest's". Both of which had powerful and mysterious historical figures to devise the plot.
But, this book did not recreate that feeling for me. It's not that it did not have a familiar historical figure, but the pacing felt off, not like before, a bit dragged if you will.
Then, there is the crux : Vijay and Co., no character development. You think, having spent time on three books (in 2 of which he thought that his lover was dead) he would have learnt to express himself and had a change of behaviour but no, he still is the same. Jump into action.
Dr Shukla is only there to translate and interpret Shlokas. Imran to provide arms and access. The only person I am excited about now is the female of the group. I am not saying that this story was not good, it was wonderful and you can tell that the story is one of Author's ambitious projects, since he took his time to release; and the details he shared in the book for science and reasoning.
I don't want to sound too critical but I feel everyone who reads this will have a different opinion, every Author has their own vision.
I missed the action, the suspense and felt that the mystery could be well built. This time the formula did not create the spark for me.
However, that said, I am looking forward to the next one as I think the Author did hint at a grandeur mystery involving the Kandhavprastha and Nagas.
Great scientific facts. Great explanations. An almost great story. An excellent and awesome start and then, it felt like everything went haywire. Even vijay or any of the experts did not know what the khandavaprastha conspiracy was, why was it burnt. I mean, i ask the writer to read the first 2 books. I never felt this story had any remotest relation to the mahabharata series. Maybe im a bit overreacting, but, i did not understand this one at all. This is a disaster for me
