A collection of birth stories. Now, why do I have this on my list? It's not like I'm a big reader of books on midwifery, it is just that I'm the oldest of six kids and my mom recorded all of our birth stories in this book.

It is a small world though. All of these stories are written by parents in the community I grew up in Northern CA. Well, in 1992 we were in Wheaton, IL when my wife Lil became pregnant and we decided to have a home birth and made an appointment with a midwife who was highly recommended by a friend. During our first meeting, we got to talking and it turned out she had read about my birth in this book. It reminded us of the few degrees of separation between all of us.

This is a collection of birth stories from people of all walks of life, most of them home births.

A collection of all very different but inspirational hippy birth stories. Some at home, in a car, at the hospital. Some with perfect endings, some with death. All blessings and empowering.
