Way Cool Spanish Phrase Book (Second Edition) by Jane Wightwick is so fun to read! This book is filled with English to Spanish phrash and word transaltions. The translations and words that are included are for phrases and words that modern students will want to know. The illustrations also help to make this book really fun. This book's audience would be anyone trying to increase their Spanish or English vocabulary. The ages would be 8 and up. I will use this book in my classroom library to help students increase their global language knowledge.

I haven’t read the whole thing front to back but I went through the whole book and found phrases I wanted to learn. What really interested me at first was the chess page! The drawings are adorable and I really like everything about this phrase book. What a neat find.

This book had all the spanish words kids need but I wish it had a little more. For a 7th grader(like me) it really helped me to learn my second(almost third) language.

Basic Spanish students will know most of these already. The section about online shorthand is helpful for when I am reading Spanish comments. This book would be better for young Spanish speakers, because the English translations are how English speakers say things.

However there are Spanish mistakes. For example, page 54, the Spanish translation that's supposed to be "I have the hunger of a wolf" to mean "I'm starving":
"Tengo un hambre de lobo" (literally: I have a hunger of wolf, which sounds like you are hungry to eat wolf)
It should have been: "Tengo la hambre de un lobo." (I have the hunger of a wolf)


Los estudiantes de español básica saben la mayoría de estos ya. La parte sobre taquigrafía de linea es útil para leyendo los comentarios de hablantes de español. Esto libro sería mejor para hablantes jovenes de español porque las traducciones inglesas son cómo hablantes de inglés dicen cosas.

Sin embargo hay errores española, pero esto concierne hablantes de inglés sólo. Por ejemplo, página 54, la traducción española, "Tengo un hambre de lobo," debería ser, "Tengo la hambre de un lobo."
