My quiet little coven town has never accepted me. I’ve been branded with the reputation of outcast since the moment I was given the Granger name. It isn’t until I inherit my family’s secret ancient gifts that rival those of the town’s beloved Quarters that I realize how small my bullies really are. But these gifts come with a centuries-old resentment that has overtaken my entire being, making it increasingly difficult to be around those closest to me. Add in the dead girls who now haunt me at every turn, and I’ve become an isolated shell who needs to break free. When 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗞𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗯𝗼𝘁 posts an ad about his empty apartment, I see an opportunity to get out from under my grandmother's suffocating thumb, and I take it. I never expected that a man twice my age would be the one I could relate to best, yet being around him felt like reuniting with the other half of my soul. It's not long before we start giving in to our temptations while uncovering more truths about our town... and ourselves. When our town is threatened with a second attack, and our leaders set to feed us to the wolves, I've got to find a way around my bitterness and work with the four men whose families caused generations of Granger strife. They're all waiting for me to prove that my gifts are enough to stop the Movement when it returns. And I’m ready to do exactly that.
Counting Quarters By Jen Stevens ✨ARC Book Review✨
Rating: 3.7/5
Enjoyable read. I didn’t realize this was book 2 so it was a little confusing. Great book, the story was amazing even though it was confusing! Liked that it had a character index before the story started and a map to give you a basic idea of what it all looked like. Recommend reading the first book first though so you know what’s happening and get to know the characters. Will be reading the first book soon. 😂

Note: This is book two in the Beacon Cove series and should be read after it’s predecessor for context.
What an absolutely fantastic installment in this series! I enjoyed every page of it and would give it a higher rating if I could!
The hero and heroine in this book were so complex and wonderfully written, their stories were enthralling! They were the epitome of strength in adversity!
This is a great read in a series that even this early is super exciting and filled with mystery, magic, unbreakable bonds, enduring love and adventure…and let’s not forget the spice😉!
Given the little teaser for the next installment, I am super excited to see where Jen takes this story and the path she has planned for her characters,
I was fortunate enough to join the ARC team for this book and leave this honest review freely and voluntarily.
Book two in the series, follows Blaire as she navigates her world that changes when she inherits her Granger Family gifts. when Sheriff Kyle offers a room for rent Blaire sees it as a chance to break free even just a little but neither expect the connection that grows between them, and when their town faces another trouble can Blaire be up to the task at hand? well written the story is engaging and filled with detail, steamy scenes, magic and more!
Received this as an arc read and much preferred the lay out to the first book in the series calling quarters as it had a better flo and layout. Enjoyed the story and enjoyed seeing blair come into herself and realise her power, as she was made to feel powerless, anappreciated and like an outsider growing up. Enjoyed learning more about the town and a little about the history yo fill in some of the blanks from book 1
I am obsessed with this little world that Jen Stevens has created. Second in the series, this book answers the cliffhanger at the end of the first book so wonderfully. Extremely well written, it was easy to get lost in Blaire and Kyle's story, and their fight against Rayner and the Movement. Plus the spice was so steamy, and the book and story so wonderful, I did not want the book to end!
If you are a fan of paranormal romance, this is right up your alley. There are spirits, elemental magic, lots of spice, and a BAMF female main character who comes to know her worth & her power. Stevens does a great job of setting the scene, pulling the reader in and keep them interested to the very end. Plus it's open for the next book in the series.
This book was so great! I definitely had my suspicions about the ending of the first book. But i did not see that twist coming! I kind of wish there was a little more about remy and storie. Also, a little more about if the other quarters found their counters? All in all though, it is a good series. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Thoroughly enjoyed this second book and liked the focus being on a different characters perspective. My only issue is I need more Beacon Grove books from Jen to read now! I need to know what happens to the baddie!
This is a great series about a coven. Some twists and turns, some spice, and some action. There are only 3 books out right now so hopefully the rest start coming out soon. Starting third book now.
I was lucky enough to get an Arc of this book and voluntarily am reviewing it. I loved the first book so much I was anxious for this one I dropped my other book just to start it. I loved the characters and how we got to not only continue the story from another point of view but got to check in with the others we came to love in the first one. that being said the Main Character annoyed me and I didnt enjoy her story quiet as much as the first one and it felt like the relationship was over explained throughout the book and made as to much of a focus. in the end I did enjoy this book and will continue the series.
