-5 stars. This was bad trash. The only good part was after the Afterword, in the About Author section where the author is introduced as 'a humble student of life'. LMAO "humble", my ass! That made me chuckle.
The second part that was a hit was the final page where the author tells you why you should rate/review his book positively. 😂 Bold of him to assume my experience was pleasant. "I've poured my heart into creating this book, and now I kindly ask for your help in spreading the word. Your review doesn't have to be lengthy—just a few words about what you liked or how the book impacted you would mean the world to me." 🙄
This guy thinks everything he has to say is important and it shows. Every other line has ellipses or exclamation marks. Not that the text held a lot of substance, but his punctuation made the whole ordeal even harder to read.
Lastly, the choice to write the world building in prose and the dialogue as poetry makes no sense. Poetry lends itself best to descriptions; poetic speech just sounds conceited. So why flip things around?
This book is the epitome of bad decisions. Listen to your editor people, they know what they're on about. Let them do the job you hired them for (referencing the author proudly mentioning in his introduction how insufferable he was during the editing process by constantly turning down suggestions and critique).

The Curse is an astonishing and beautiful graphic novel. The art is incredible, and the storyline is deep… and dark…and has the making of a good epic. I love horror/gothic fantasy, so I enjoyed reading this a lot.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because I had a hard time following some of the poetic writing. At times, it felt similar to learning a new language. My brain hurt a little, and I found myself re-reading some parts. I know that rhyming can make a great poem or song, but in this case it caused me to focus a lot harder on understanding than I was used to.
Small complaints though- because overall, The Curse is a fantastic work of art.
Thank you to the author for allowing me the pleasure of reading your graphic novel.

Wow, what an interesting way to tell a story. All I could think as I read this book was that Zoderot is a modern day Shakespeare.
The blend of rhyming poetry and prose was fantastic. The fact that the author can write rhythmic dialogue that furthers the story along was very impressive. It took me a chapter or two to get into the groove of the book, being that I do not normally read poetry. However, once I reached that groove, the story just flowed perfectly and I highly enjoyed it.
If you’re looking for a fresh new style of writing, this dark fantasy is something to try. The book is short so there is no need to invest too much time if you don’t like it, but I don’t believe that will be the case.
Looking forward to reading book two of this series!

Wow, I have never read anything like this before. This was my first time reading a spiritual dark fantasy thriller, And let me tell you I am impressed. Personally I’m more of a cliche romance reader, but I have always had an eye for poetry. What I love about ‘curse’ drakko is the talent of the author behind the words. Not many master writing poems that actually make sense to the story. I can only imagine how much time the author has spent on this book. You can really see the talent and the understanding of the art, in this book.
I am really impressed by the poems. It’s fantastic to see how the author has picked words that both fits to the story and that rhyme. I can clearly see the build up of the poem’s, how the ending words rhyme with each other. «The eyes of Ones do meet,as death comes in so sweet…The Wise one does not hate!Instead,He offers fate» I love this sentence! This book has an excellent use of literary devices.
If this sounds like a book in your lane, I would 100% recommend this unique book, written by this talented author!🥰

A Thoughtful and Unique Writing Style with Many Hidden Eastern Teachings
I received an ARC from the author to do a review.
This novel is concise and uses an epic, poetic style to deliver its contents. It covers the experience of a character who undergoes tribulation. He then introspects and reframes his situation to resolve the travails that he is going through.
There are some things that readers should note before they are too quick to judge this book. This book is not a typical plot-driven or adventure-driven novel. It is a moderately-paced introspective novel that I would classify as part literary, commercial, character-driven, and theme-driven. There are many esoteric teachings that deal with Eastern philosophy. It has many quotes and a similar writing style to the Tao De Ching. If one suspends judgment and reads between the lines deeper, one can understand themes such as:
1) If one cannot change the world, one must instead change one’s inner perspective to deal with troubles.
2) Reality cannot be named and must be experienced instead of merely understood.
3) Postponing judgment creates a sense of objectivity and detachment toward the cosmos, which helps one cope better.
The reader should pause and read the works very carefully. Many teachings may sound esoteric, but this is the nature of Eastern philosophy, which is full of paradoxes, such as how “the named that cannot be named is not the Tao,” etc. These are not nonsensical ramblings; instead, they cover the Eastern concept of non-dualism. Thus, I advise the reader to reflect on the metaphysical themes slowly and carefully instead of jumping to a conclusion.
The author has taken a brave step in writing using a poetic form, which follows a variation of some poetic meters. Many rhymes and alliterations give the book a textual beauty that one should slowly appreciate.
I gave a 4 out of 5-star review for the above-said reasons and felt it was a decent book worth reading and has philosophical depth. I did not give a 5 out of 5-star review because of minor structural issues. I also felt the main character could be a little stronger, but that is my subjective view. I have already provided constructive feedback to the author in private so that he may fix it either as an update or in his future novels.
Overall, it is a different reading experience with a uniquely creative and philosophical perspective that is still enjoyable.

I'm a poetry lover. I grew up writing it and have a poetry book of my own in the works. I've NEVER seen or read anything like this and I LOVE it. I love the merge between a fantasy novel and a poetry book. The mixture of prose and "standard" poetry is beautiful and I love the theater play aspects as well, it made it very easy to follow along. I loved the hidden messages within every page as well. Like he says in the beginning of the book: "Read slowly, attentively, and fully... Try to Relate, and relate fully and completely... Read this piece as if You wrote it for Yourselves... As if You're trying to teach Yourselves something useful..." and you'll get the messages. Alexander's writing style is brilliant and I hope to read many more of his books in the future!

This book was honestly so different to anything I've ever read before. A story that follows Drakko, a young man who is ending his career, he ends up meeting the One, and starting on the path of his spiritual journey, not realising he actually began it a long time ago. This is a story that can be categorised as Dark Fantasy meets Spirituality, and is written in a blend of poetry and prose, in old theatre style. I enjoyed this more than I initially thought that I would, I was worried that I wouldn't 'get' it, and I'm still honestly not 100% sure that I did, but I FEEL like I did, if that makes sense.
I found myself glued to the page because I honestly didn't know what was going to happen next. It's a dark read, and it turned out quite shocking, in my opinion. I was surprised by the way the story turned out, but then at the same time, I wasn't really.
I don't want to say too much about this one as I feel like it's better to go into it a bit blind and with just what the blurb gives you. All in all, this was a dark read that takes you on a journey fraught with danger, despair and suspense, this book will definitely stay on your mind long after you finish it. I'm still thinking about it now. I'm definitely keen to see what happens in the next instalment.

Honestly, there is so little you can say about this book without giving the game away. I will say, it was not an easy read, it required time and attention, which given the short length, was a surprise. There are elements horror, fantasy and Eastern philosophical tradition woven together. I believe rereading would serve to peel back the layers on this onion, diving deeper and deeper. I would recommend this book if you want to be challenged in your reading, as I truly have never read anything like it.

I am a huge fan of theatre and Shakespeare, so this book was right up my alley. I loved the spiritual themes of truly finding yourself, of how far will you go for revenge. What toll does that take on a person? The writing style was precise and intentional. I really appreciated the attention to every detail, even down to the verse meter! Perfection!
This was not an easy read nor a fast read. I really had to sit down, calm my mind to get in the swing of the prose (and that was most definitely the point). Once I did there were many hidden gems of foreshadowing and symbolism. I would reread this because I think there’s even more hidden gems to find. If you want a book that will make you think, then I highly recommend. If you love Hamlet by Shakespeare, then look no further.

From the moment I took a first glimpse at Alexander's writings in this short spanned masterpiece I said to him that this feels like Divine Comedy being written by Edgar Allan Poe. Not only was I not wrong but it exceeded my expectations. Prepare not only for a fantasy drama but for a timeless writing where I too shall concur with the author's words "read this as if You wrote it for Yourselves". Inspiring, thrilling, and thirsting for the Spiral of Drakko.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.
This was an interesting book to read. Much of it was written as poetry, and I admit I have a difficult time reviewing poetry, but that is not to say I disliked the experience. The mix of poetry and prose was not off-putting at all. It presented a unique voice in the dark fantasy/spiritual thriller world.
This is such a short book that I can't say much about character development or anything of that nature, but I still enjoyed the story. It moves at a quick pace and has a bit of a shocker at the end, too, making the story all the darker. I do enjoy a bit of darkness!
This was an interesting book to read. Much of it was written as poetry, and I admit I have a difficult time reviewing poetry, but that is not to say I disliked the experience. I admire authors who take risks and in this case it is with a style that uses pastoral prose with poetry to portray a surrealistic and symbolistic vision. For those that have read E.T.A. Hoffman, Gustav Meyrin, Gerard de Nerval, Joris-Karl Huysmans etc.., this style will feel familiar. Its difficult reading but there are many layers to the story to unravel and esoteric teachings to discover for those that look deep enough.

This was such a different read for me. I received a free copy from the author for my honest review. This book is written in two different types of writing, prose and poem. Poem is one that I normally wouldn’t pick up as it’s hard for me to get attached to. I did enjoy the start of the character development but felt there was more that the book could have given. I’m interested in where the author takes this series.

This was not for me. Fantasy in poetry. While it did have some structured paragraphs and discription most of the story was told via poetic prose that clearly went over my head much like Shakespeare when a 11 year old is forced to read it.
While I can see how well written this is and how clever the writing actually is I just can't love it.

What a phenomenal poetic story in the form of a ballad. The artwork was absolutely gorgeous and helped the story flow. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of poetry but curiosity got the best of me. I'm glad I took a chance. I have never seem anything like this and I highly recommend this book to all!!!

I enjoyed this graphic novel, it was an interesting read. I have not read much with this style of writing and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. I had to take my time with it so I could fully understand what I was reading which was not a bad thing by any means. I received this book through Voracious Readers Only.

What an interesting concept, done in such a unique, beautiful, and artistic style.
In this spiritual journey, follow the path of Drakko as he tries to decide right from wrong, and faces the consequences of those actions upon himself as well as those he loves.
Genuinely excited to start book 2 and see where that path takes me!

Separated into seven acts, Drakko embarks on a spiritual journey. The story is dialogue-driven and revolves around Drakko's character. This reads as a Shakespearean-inspired narrative.

A sad, but thought-provoking book. Written in a style similar to the Iliad and the Odyssey you find very small sections of prose, but it’s mostly poetry. I would like to point out there are a few grammatical errors, but they are just typos. I received an advance reader copy of this book.

This book was way different than I expected. However, I still enjoyed it! It's a different take on the poetry I've read in the past and I loved the dark theme of it!
I recommend giving it a shot if you like poetry! It's a quick read right under 100 pages.

This was so different than what I was expecting. I love poetry but I expected more mainstream poetry? Instead I was met with prose and poetry that really made me think.
It reminded me of Shakespeare. Not because it was written like Shakespeare. It wasn’t. But the way the dialogue was worded definitely made me take a step back and really focus on the book to understand what was going on. Once I got used to the writing style I loved it.
There’s a story here filled with love and heartbreak and betrayal. It was amazing.
If you like poetry, go read it!
