Here's a quote that tickled me:
They’d even followed my late father’s cookbook, searing it to ash on the outside while leaving it nice and raw on the inside."
This is another series that I really love! Like the previous books, I immensely enjoyed listening to this. I really like that the story picked up from where it left off. Also, the author has created these characters that are so interesting and I love them. I love the banters, the struggles, and the dynamics among them.
Another brilliant performance by Steve Campbell! He brought each character to life. Great job!
This book ups the ante as we see the fight for survival and the struggle to grow stronger together. Some great world building and intrigue in this one as we progress with Carl.
Now the titular core is fighting to keep his domain together, and battling armies and sabotage. And yet he survives several major battles and ponders ways to get even bigger. Will it be a larger war, or will it go another direction?
