Darya Dontsova (Russian: Дарья Донцова) (before marriage known as Vasilyeva) is a Russian writer of detective novels, scriptwriter, TV presenter and member of the Union of Writers of Russia.
Winner of a number of literary awards. Over the years, according to official data of the Russian Book Chamber, Dontsova takes the first place in Russia among adult fiction authors on the total annual circulation of books published by it. In 2015, published 117 books and pamphlets total circulation of Dontsova 1968 thousand copies in Russia.

Reading Dontsova is like being trapped in an endless conversation with a dim-witted, superficial gossipy woman. She takes careful notes about what everyone is wearing and how their makeup and skin look, but she can't be bothered to develop a disciplined, interesting plot or characters with any depth. I also find her constant use of diminutives (everyone is a Дуняша, Катенька, Манюня) grating and annoying.
