The race to find the most valuable resource in the galaxy is on.
No, it isn’t unobtainium, vibranium, adamantium, or eternium. And it isn’t a zouchem crystal, either (though that WOULD be a nice pickup).
If Ben wants to prevent Duke Sedaya from gaining an iron grip on the Hegemony, his only hope lies in locating the missing Prince Hiro. Of course, it won’t be easy. And even if Ben can find him…
M.R. Forbes is the author of a growing number of science-fiction series including Rebellion, War Eternal, Chaos of the Covenant, Stars End, and the Forgotten novels. Having spent his childhood trying to read every sci-fi novel he could find (and write his own too), play every sci-fi video game he could get his hands on, and see every sci-fi movie that made it into the theater, he has a true love of the genre across every medium. He works hard to bring that same energy to his own stories, with a continuing goal to entertain, delight, fascinate, and surprise.
He maintains a true appreciation for his readers and is always happy to hear from them.
To learn more about M.R. Forbes or just say hello:
The action is nonstop for Ben and his crew. But the way that Ben keeps finding himself low on chaos energy is starting to feel contrived. I’m sure It’s not just me who wonders why he doesn’t carry any sort of protein or meal bars to help him?
Nonstop peril and decisions to be made to overcome the traps set for our heroes. Unfortunately one betrayal due to the enormous reward put on their heads.
Another cliffhanger ending. Can't wait for the next installment.
I've been reading this series since it came out - enjoyed most of the books but am getting tired of the storyline as our heroes can't seem to get a break and are always getting deeper and deeper into trouble. It seems as though whenever they get a break or pull something off the goalposts are once again moved. This seems to be a "stretch it out to sell more books" strategy. I'm ok with more books and the author making money - just want to enjoy the story as opposed to just grinding through another book to see how it turns out :-)
I have enjoyed the books in this series by MR forbes. character development is important to me and this book is good at that. the narration is great. took a while to get used to and learn to overlook the extreme violence. and it's also clear that the author puts 80% of his effort into writing gory action-filled fighting scenes. Here's what you get when a 60 year old woman reads books written primarily for men. There's really only one nitpicky reason why I'm going to stop listening to these books out of sheer frustration. Doesn't Ben know how to carry around Gatorade or snacks? maybe some Raisins and Almonds in a baggie in his pocket? I mean really. why doesn't one of the female character suggested to him? he gets worn out because he needs food and he doesn't freaking even carry any around with him. also, the characters never stop to drink water. I can't stand it anymore it's so stupid. yeah go ahead and call me Rosanna Rosanna Danna.
damon.cottrell@gmail.com. Forbes continues the constant fray that is Ben Murdock's life. wheels continue to turn within wheels. I like the action, teamwork,. and resolve Ben and crew show as they jump from one peril to another. Ben struggles to do the right thing even if the galaxy is out to get him. Forbes adds more twists to an already complex plot and does it masterfully. Read this series if you like average people who are in way over their heads and rise to an expanding challenge.
Thoroughly enjoyed the continuing saga of Ben and Matt but am frustrated with the storyline at times because they are always thwarted by the overwhelming forces arranged against them but crucially Ben's inability to remove his protractors without remorse. I keep wondering when the story will end because it just keeps getting more and more outlandish, maybe book 9 will enable Ben to defeat the bad guys and save everyone!!
I really enjoyed the first 5 or 6 books, but now that I know the Relyah are involved ( the Hunger), I’m about done with this story. Not interested in reading any more about that group of villains as it’s too far fetched for me. Didn’t care for them in Forbes previous books.
Not bad! The only very, very frustrating thing about literally *ALL* of these books is they're one continuous thread. A summary of what's what (and where things left off) would be useful at the beginning. I feel like I'm floundering trying to remember what's happening, who characters are, etc, since these books come out every few months.
I slammed book 7 in my review of it, thankfully 8 is a major improvement and back to where the series had been Story is moving along nicely, team grows a bit and a couple of surprises thrown in for good measure Given how 8 ends, I am hoping the series does not drag out for too many more, there really isn't that much more to do
Another exciting book in the Starship for Sale series
I'm very grateful that there is another book in the series because this was one wild ride! I don't want it to end but I'm catching up on M.R. Forbes' writing. I would love to spoil the story but I won't. I'll just say it was well worth the money for the story and the next book is as good as purchased.
This series is an ongoing nonstop action, reflection, planning, multiple actions, and the old saying that no plan survived enemies contact. Onward to the next books!
Again rather good, although surprising to read about the Axn and Releyeh but still it’s all in the same context if new worlds and occupation by others. Especially the Aleal, shame they could have helped.
I am heartbroken at how this one is hanging. I have real faith in Team Hondo though. I donor want to wait for the next one, but I will. You still got me on edge m.r.Forbes.
But betrayal, doom, and destruction infuse the plot of My Hero. I love Ben, Matt, and the crew, but the story is very dark. Several unexpected plot twists increased the grim quotient exponentially. I'm hoping for a little light in book 9.
If you haven't started this series, you should. The adventure and plot twists are worth every word. The editing is flawless and I've enjoyed every installment to date. Can't wait for the next!
The first few books were fun, but the formula has now been established and despite some actually good plot ideas, characters and locations the unbelievable stupidity of the main character is now just grating.
The task before our heroes seems never ending when you think it can't get worse, they have a way of proving you wrong. Allies rise and gall but the crew of Head Case continue their fight! Lucky me, I am back to waiting. =)
Another action packed desperate struggle to save the hedgemony. Opening a rift in the fabric of space time and travelling through the vacuum of space in a bubble to the next adventure.
I’m not getting much sleep because I can’t put these books down! lol Reminds me of something a friend says “They just kept listening so I had to keep talking.” Keep up the great work!
Mr. Forbes continues to deliver twists and turns like no other. This series is a fun read with each book taking you deeper into the universe inhabited by exotic creatures, good, bad, and interesting. I have really enjoyed this series.
Just when you think you've got it all figured out, Bam!, they drag you back in... Star Wars may have had the death star but our crew of heroes have it worse, pod ! ! ! People ! ! ! (Not really but close enough)
Yes, they are a bit outlandish, but its called fiction for a reason. I find the the more I read of this series the more I like them. There appear to only be two more in the series and I can already tell I'm going to be saddened when they are all gone.
