A mega storm hits and the main part of the plot is about a family finding each other from the various different places they end up washed up at.
Kelly's husband Zach has recently died leaving her with their teenaged son Jackson, who has begun to act up and cut school with his best friend Ray. Kelly's brother Eddie, a former rock star lives with her and his pre-teen daughter Zoey recently moved in when her mother died.

Kelly and Eddie are at home when the storm, 'the big one' hits. They decide to split up, find their kids, Jackson & Zoey. The plan is to then meet back up and travel to their parents farm/dog rescue in Tennessee to make a life there.

Kelly & Eddie at first think Jackson & Zoey are at their schools......but teenager Jackson has been cutting school and along with best friend Ray has gone to a local theme park, ironically called Pirate Splash. It's not long after the storm hits that everywhere is flooding, including the theme park! Ray's friend Faye sneaks them into the theme park and they explore along with her and her boyfriend Brian. When a ride stops, they have to abandon it and use staff areas to try to get out. Then they have to survive the flooding! Along the way they come across a little girl called Mira whom, Ray & Jackson take under their protective wing.

It turns out Zoey isn't at school either but after been put under pressure in class she has had an asthma attack and according to safety guidelines she has to attend hospital.....only due to the storm her ambulance is in an accident, then the ambulance that rescues her from that is re-directed multiple times and ends up taking refuge at an abandoned hotel.

This book starts off kind of slow paced, in fact at one point I wavered about continuing to read it, but then the pace picked up and the action increased.
I particularly liked the characters relationships with each other. The brother Eddie, sister Kelly being single parents whilst struggling with their own emotional and financial personal problems. I loved both Kelly & Eddie willing to lay down their life for their child. They both really go through a lot, are beaten and betrayed during their quests to reach their children. They both then catch a lucky break, Kelly coming across Stanley who has his own sad, emotional tale of loss and loneliness but agrees to help Kelly. Then Eddie in a ditch, being lucky that Jeb is passing and rescues him, then offers to help him get to his daughter Zoey.

I'm really looking forward to the next book and seeing how the group copes with the trials they will have to overcome to get to Tennessee to Kelly & Eddie's parents Farm. We don't even know what state the older couple will be in, nor their farm if/when Kelly & the group manage to get there. Which characters will leave the group, who will they meet along the way to add to their group. Then theres the weather conditions and the fact people are going crazy looting, not to mention the government and their 'safe shelters' that have something really sinister going on in as well as disease spreading amongst the occupants. Why are these 'safe shelters' wanting to prevent people leaving them.
The way this book ended leaves so many different options and directions a second book could go.

Book 2 - Survivors of the Superstorm

Part I

This is book 2 of the Brutal Earth set and like book 1, this story is broken down in three parts. This book is set on level 8 from the beginning and just never lets up! Constant adrenaline, constant danger, constant fear. Underneath all of that is a family trying to hold it together, and they are - barely. I love the characters - especially the addition of Jen. I’m hoping he stays with them the entire book. I do wonder about Zoe’s teacher though. He got left behind at the shelter, and for good reason, but I wonder if that’s the end of him?

Part I has 34 chapters and an Epilogue.

5 stars for this part of the book!

Part II

The mom (Kelly) really bothered me at the beginning of this book. I understand she risked everything to find Jackson but she’s treating him like he’s 5, not 17. And she’s just mean to everyone. Like a biting, sarcastic, no one can possibly know anything or know what’s best other than me kind of way.

I keep wondering about the “Coast Guard” guys. How do they keep finding them?? There’s no way any of them have anything that they can track. It just doesn’t make any sense.

I am pretty upset over Ray. I know you can’t expect these situations to just get better and everyone comes out ok. That there’s no loss and no hurt, but man. And don’t even get me started on Jeb! I know and completely understand him wanting to find his family but come on!!!

Part II has 35 chapters and an Epilogue.

4.5 stars for this section of the book!

Part III

Ugh! I am really really upset! Jeb has been my favorite character throughout the entire book!

I have to say that all the bad guys have a way better sense of direction than I do! HOW IN THE WORLD did Faye and her cronies find them after so long?! Kelly was kinda like Faye but I get it. She would do whatever it took to protect her kid. I am surprised that Jackson didn’t turn 18 at some point in the story but honestly I have no idea the time period that the story unfolded over.

Part III has 39 chapters and an Epilogue.

5 stars for this section of the book.

Overall I would give this a 5 star rating.

What a story! And now I have to find the words to make it clear what I mean...

In a world where nature has been ruined by man, someone else thought he could solve it and his solution turns out to be the end of the earth as we know it. Where storms are bigger than you can imagine and one storm follows the other.
Kelly, her son Jackson, her brother-in-law and niece Eddie and Zoe live in this world. When one storm turns into another, they realize that Florida is no longer safe and they decide to head to Tennessee.
Eddie is looking for his daughter Zoe who, after an asthma attack, is caught by the flood disaster on the way to the hospital.
His car hits a deep hole and he would have drowned if it wasn't for Jeb who saves him and helps find Zoe.
In the meantime, Kelly is looking for her son who didn't go to school but Pirate Splash. Kelly tries to find him and is ambushed by guys who take her car. Via-via she ends up with Stanley who goes with her and has a boat to sail with all the water that keeps coming.
Jackson is with his friend in Pirat Splash when they are engulfed by the water and must search for safety.

So much, so much happens through all the stories but eventually they find each other and continue as a group of 8 people.

I thought Jeb was a great guy. His appearance is that of a hard biker but with a heart of gold.
Beautiful how 13-year-old Zoe sometimes had a monopoly on wisdom and how admirable Jackson was when he tries to save his friends.
I was glad in the end that Kelly and Eddie found each other again.

Highly recommended.

First I have to say, great world building. Second, constant action that can at times be a bit overwhelming but nicely pulled together at the end. Third, 26 characters, each mostly with their own complex storyline. Finally, the two main characters spend waaaay too much time getting head injuries or are simply "out of focus" in strange dream-like sequences entirely too often. Either Kelly needs to get a grip or Eddie needs to. Love that he's a singer, music will provide great healing, joy and encouragement...plus it helps you "just breathe" when stress or circumstances makes it hard!! Hopefully Jeb becomes a much needed love interest for Kelly. Very pleasantly surprised that Stanley has herbal skills, knows about gardening and boats. Zoe is smart, can cook, is mature due to homeschooling, interested in learning more about healing which will give Stanley a student and a reason to continue living. Jackson is brave and conscientious. I hope Mira stays with the family.

Wow! Just wow, on the whole Donn Snow "snowstorm" climate change, Covid, shelter/hospital/controlled camp situation. Very creative yet believable. Can't wait for the next in series! Team effort is working for you ladies...way to go!!!! Kudos!!!.

This was another good survival storyline. There were times that it was hard to follow the story and it was easy to tell 2 authors had written the story together. Over all it was a really good survivalist story for one 1 person screws up the world for everyone else. It was good to meet the main characters and players in the book series and to begin to figure out their strengths and how they are going to play together to survive.
It was an interesting idea that one man's idea put into action had screwed with mother nature enough to completely flip the world around. I'm intrigued to see how this is handled in the rest of the series, I'm hoping we get more information.

Wow Endless Storm is a fast paced adventure in a post apocalyptic world that grimly sits on the edge of the abyss not the end of society but certainly close. And then on what seems like just another “Snow Day” a term used for possible severe storms where most people must go to shelters the storm actually comes but more brutal and severe than anything anyone has seen so far. In a few hours almost everything is ripped away in the onslaught of the storm as one broken family tries to not only survive the day but find each other in the chaos. And during the chaos the storm isn’t the worst danger. The worst is what humanity itself has to offer if things go wrong. Such a great story I absolutely can’t wait to see what comes next! I highly recommend it!

A Disaster Story with a Twist (or Several)

This is the first book I’ve read by Gracie Hamilton that wasn’t an EMP disaster story, and I’ll admit—it took me a little longer to settle into. Part of that was figuring out the storm itself, which wasn’t immediately clear, and part of it was just the sheer number of characters introduced early on. Aside from Eddie, Zoe, Kelly, and Jackson, I wasn’t sure who I was supposed to really care about. But once I got into it, I really enjoyed it. The story has a lot going for it, and even though it’s 30 hours long, there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me listening. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys environmental disaster stories mixed with epidemic fiction.

Endless Storm is a page turning, nail biting, it could really happen storyline caused by a devastating storm creating havoc, flooding, and so much more. This book takes us on a crazy journey as a family searches for their loved ones while trying to accept climate change and survive at the same time. Endless Storm is an action packed story with danger, suspense, descriptive writing, chaos, and unexpected twists that pulled me in, and didn't let go until the final page. Once again this author duo has left me wondering if it really happened would I survive? I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Gosh, this is a fast paced, edge of your seat, don't read it while you trying to go to sleep kind of a book. I kept thinking I would get to a calmer bit so I could put it down but instead it just kept being too exciting to put down. There is something going on with the weather and our main characters are caught in a huge storm both emotionally and physically. I loved it! (Even if it did keep me up WAY later than I intended!). No spoilers here, it is just a good, fun read. It feels like the start of a good series and I look forward to getting my teeth into some of the mysteries!

Started out good but way to long causing it to lose its way. Kelly is the main character and I wanted to slap her by the end - total whineass. Nothing but complaining and drama all the way through even when there was a win for the group. Some things were relevant to the apocalyptic world and some were not. Many things happened that were preventable but again it wasn’t a bad read, it was adventurous and active throughout the book. I probably would not read a sequel but since it was a borrow it was worth the read.

10 STAR book. I have always wanted to read a book by Grace Hamilton and I was not disappointed. This book is about the strength of the human spirit when confronted by everything that man and nature can throw to you and your loved ones. Family that can be dysfunctional, will always stand together under trying times. This book is well written and very exciting to read. I did have to put it aside as the characters do not want to listen to me as I shout at them, No - not that way but do it this way. A stunning story that does not disappoint the reader.

I enjoyed this story and how people react under pressure. It's very difficult how each person reacts when in the middle of a disaster. I have to say that living in Florida since 1963 I've gone through a number of hurricanes but none to the extent of the last few hurricanes of Ian and Nicole. This story brings out them best and the worst of people. Enjoyable story.

A fairly clean PG saga

A billionaire and a scientist create a pandemic that rocks the world. A panicking mother will do about anything to save her son. Throw in climate change and a crazy woman out for revenge for looking for her boy friend and you end up with a lot events that repeat themselves.
For a posts apocalyptic story, the main characters were out of touch on how to survive in a world turned topsy turvy. Not very believable.
This could be make into tv movie.

When a hurricane collides with a tropical storm then that's a disaster just waiting to happen. A family need to find each other in the maelstrom whilst battling the elements.

A great disaster story told from four perspectives as circumstances conspire to split up our protagonists during the worst storm in living memory.

Excellent set pieces with vehicle crashes, mudslides, flooding and tense rescues follow our characters on the worst day of their lives.

Never really sure if everyone will come out of this alive, the story rolls on at a fast pace and introduces some memorable characters and keeps the reader hooked all the way through

I've read a lot of books written by Grace Hamilton; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story is about Kelly & her brother-in-law Eddie searching for their kids that disappeared when the disaster started.

I received a free copy via Netgalley.

This is really 3 stories in one book about one family attempting to survive.

The story starts at a cracking pace and is really enjoyable.

Unfortunately by the third book it had become a bit far fetched, there are only so many times you can be shot at and survive surely?

An easy read, but would have been better without the third part.

A decent, variable tale

Endless Storm is a 3 part book with each book taking on a different character. A disaster novel, an adventure novel and something of a spy tale all tied for by a great cast of characters. Empathetic characters are killed, evil characters find redemption and there is no traditional happy ending. Its a long, but rewarding read. 4/5 stars

This is a really good start to this new exciting climate crisis series! Good ideas, fast paced adventure! It would of been 5 stars but I found the level of angst a little too much for me. Otherwise, a really good read!.

Kelly wants to move, A storm is brewing. Jackson cuts school. Kelly battles the storm in an effort to re-unite her family and head north. A different kind of post-apocalyptic story, set in central Florida.

Loved it!

Fell in love with all the main characters. Did have a problem liking Kate, even though I understand her love of her son. She was more likable at end.
