Seriously, if you just need a cozy, sassy, light murder mystery series to soothe your soul after a long/hard/annoying work week - this is she!

Really light cozy mystery. Ok story and enjoyable characters. I upped it to 4 stars because it was just what I needed after reading several gruesome murder mysteries.

3.5 stars: The mystery itself was kind of lame and easy to solve but the side story was fun and the characters are good so it was still entertaining. Plus it was a really quick read. Nice audio narration.

Another cute cozy about a writer drawn into intrigue.
Poppy dips back into a reality where murder is on the menu. And there's a seasoning of stolen art with flecks of Interpol. At least this time, it's not all going down at the donut shop. Still, it's a race to the finish with her life at risk while she's trying to write a book and deal with an editor who is a gorgon.
And... well, there's just so much going on that reading this book follow the wandering, high-stakes path is the only thing that will do!

Jealousy and Revenge are Hard Roads to Take
Stephanie was so insecure that she could no longer see straight or think correctly. Oliver wasn't muchbetter so concerned about his standing as chess champion of the world. Elliewas kind and gentle and would have done a really good job as Poppys editor, but who she really needed was Francis that told her like it is even if she was cruel. Nothing lit a fire beneath Poppy like being told her writing was garbage, until the one man there told her the secret of dealing with Francis. Overall excellent story

Written by a teen?
This second book in the series is better written than the first one. However, the vocabulary fits young adolescents. I think that the author could benefit from a dictionary and a good editor. Cute story, though.

Surprise
This high quality mystery is literally an ambitious young lady trying to live her own life and follow her dreams when bam a murder happens. The flow and the pacing are immaculate, and the murderer caught me by surprise.

Read Between the Lies carries on two weeks after the concluding events from book one, which is fun to have a plot with a continual sequence. We jump right into a new mystery while continuing to follow Poppy’s writing career and daytime job. In this story we have some stolen art, a city-wide, secretive math competition, a professional chess theme, a chance to meet Ophelia’s cohorts, and a personal and sudden loss to Poppy.
This story is a quick, easy, cozy, comforting read. It’s a delightful tale not only about crime-solving, but also friendship and the power of determination, confidence and a positive outlook.
