Delivering candy is a great way to make a few extra dollars…until your dragon unexpectedly shifts and breaks far more than you’ll earn…
Alpha Dragon shifter Laden is trying to get his life in order. He’s sick of being the unsuccessful one. It’s bad enough he’s living in someone else’s house and working a job he only has thanks to nepotism, but now he has a loan coming due that he can’t pay. It’s time for a side hustle. Good thing the candy store is hiring.
Human omega Bryson was ready for a new beginning when his boss decided to open a second store and asked him to be a part of the expansion. From the first day, Bryson feels more at home here than he had anywhere else. Still…something is missing from his life.
Bryson’s life turns upside down in an instant when someone stops by his job to deliver blue cotton candy to his boss. Bryson barely reaches for the delivery when the man standing before him turns into a dragon—a fire breathing dragon—a sexy fire breathing dragon.

Clayton, an alpha dragon shifter, struggles financially and finds himself moving in with his twin at the Dragon Mountain property owned by his extended relatives. He takes on a side-hustle as a delivery driver for a candy store and unexpectedly shifts into his dragon form when he senses his mate, Bryson, a human omega. Clayton and Bryson are so lovely together as they fit into one another’s lives and spend time with the extended dragon shifter family – love how the stories in this series are standalones but include characters from other books to build the sense of a large loving, extended family. Sweet, romantic MM Mpreg read with a side of heat and cute egg babies!
I liked it but I didn't love it. The main issues to the characters get solved pretty quick, so halfway through the book we run out of conflict. It makes for a not that interesting second half in the end. Still, not bad.
ConfEGGtionary is the third book in the ‘Love at First Shift’ series. It stars Bryson, an omega human, and Clayton, an Alpha dragon shifter. This is told in first person from both Bryson and Clayton’s povs.
First the cover. I don’t remember either Bryson or Clayton having pink hair. The only hint of anything pink or cotton candy colors is the confectionary store next door or when one of their babies’ dragon form had pastel colors. I don’t get the pink hair. I’m not sure who the cover model is supposed to represent.
Next, why does the blurb say ‘Laden’ instead of ‘Clayton’? The main character is Clayton, not Laden. Laden is the twin brother of Clayton and it’s Clayton who is having the financial troubles. All the chapters are divided between Clayton and Bryson.
The blurb does a good job of explaining the plot. It’s about Bryson and Clayton finding each other with a subplot about Clayton’s financial troubles that are only talked about but there’s no action dealing with that. Then it’s the two mating and having babies. The plot is cute, at least the first half where Bryson and Clayton meet and Bryson learns about dragons and shifters. Once they mate, the plot was for me, boring. Too much time was focused on them waiting for the dragon eggs to hatch, watching them, talking about the cave, and nesting. It was a lot of monologue without action. I thought it unusual to have a fast paced first half of a story, while the second half plodded along. The scenes in the first half jumped quickly from one topic to the next. A scene or conversation could last a few sentences to a paragraph, and then on to the next topic. It’s like the authors came up with ideas, wrote them down, and then didn’t flesh out the idea. For instance, the scene where Bryson and Clayton meet for the first time and Clayton shifts into a dragon. The conversation before it happened, during, and after, was very stilted. Not just because Bryson was surprised, it was the structure of the sentences, it was like no one knew how to write an actual awkward and shocked scene.
This brings up the topic of important scenes. Clayton’s financial troubles are brought up regularly as to why he can’t be with Bryson and why he wants to move away to a city for a better job. The bad message is that Bryson, who is extremely happy at his job and where he lives, has to give up his job to stay with Clayton even though he’s told Clayton money doesn’t mean that much to him. Why does the omega have to give up his happy life? What kind of messaging is that? Also, the actual mating of the two men, was never covered in the story. This is one of those instances where the authors brought up the subject, said it happened, and then went on to the next scene. They also did that with Bryson having the babies. He set up the nest, then a short explanation, he didn’t have much trouble having the babies, and then on to the next scenes where they just watch the eggs and try to decide on names. Too many rushed and unfulfilled scenes.
As usual with this writing team, the characters voices sounded the same, with Bryson’s voice getting younger and younger as the story progressed. Bryson is a returning character from Book Two. In that book, I got the impression that he was in his early thirties. When he’s with Clayton, I get the impression that he’s in his mid to late twenties. By the end of the book, he acts as if he’s in his early twenties. Talk about inconsistent. Maybe it’s because at the start of the story, Bryson was independent and confident. As the story progressed, he became more dependent on Clayton and all he could think about was babies. Like that’s all his life was worth, a mate and a baby. I like reading about strong omegas and Bryson wasn’t it. Both main characters had the same voice, and their voices were the same as the other MCs in the authors’ other books. Also, what’s up with making two characters with similar names, ClaytON and BrysON? With the names being similar and the voices also being similar, even with the chapter designations, I found it impossible to keep the characters straight. It didn’t help when the character names were also mixed up in the story, and yes, I know the book I read was an ARC.
I keep hoping the authors will improve their writing, but I guess that’s not going to happen. I think the main goal is to produce as many books as possible for publication in order to make money. Nothing wrong with making money, just make sure the books are well written. In this case it’s not. And while most readers don’t seem to mind, I definitely notice the lack of care. ConfEGGtionary is cute, but it’s a rush job that follows the same kind of characters, with the same kind of voices as previous books. I want to give this 2.5 Stars, but I liked funny Bryson, even though his voice was inconsistent and he wimped out from a confident omega to a dependent one, so I’ll give this a hesitant, 3 Stars.

This is a cute story about Bryson and Clayton’s discovery that they are fated mates. Clayton is a sweet alpha dragon shifter who got himself in debt by trying to help a friend. So he needs to find extra work to help pay off his debt. Bryson is a human omega who is about to get a unique experience. Clayton is on his way to make a cake delivery to the furniture store where Bryson works. Bryson was in the back room getting things in order and shouted to the guy to come around to the back. Bryson was confused to greet Laden, who cleaned up the shop for them at night, as he walked in with the cake delivery! Clayton chuckled and said he got that greeting often.
The way Bryson started feeling giddy and his heart racing, he knew this wasn’t Laden and must be his twin brother. And Laden was wrong when he claimed himself to be the handsome twin – his brother was definitely the winner in that category! As Clayton walked past him to put the cake on a shelf, Clayton’s dragon recognizes his fated mate, and with his shredded clothing flying everywhere, he immediately shifts into his huge winged fire-breathing dragon form in his excitement to preen for his mate. Bryson of course thinks he is seeing things so Clayton shifted back to his naked human form and told him all about shifters. When he finished, Bryson figured he was dreaming, so he kissed him, and Clayton felt the love. Before it went any further, Bryson’s boss Aldo arrived. He obviously knew Clayton and that he was a dragon which added more to Bryson’s confusion as his boss was apparently also a shifter! But when Clayton remembered the debt he owed, he did not feel worthy of a mate. Will their romance stall? Or will they learn more about each other and the fact you can’t argue with Fate?
I enjoyed the crazy scene where the two of them have a very surprising first-meet. I know would have been over the moon seeing a dragon! But since I adore dragons, and Clayton is a sweetie, I definitely enjoyed their story. And you know that there is much more to come, so you won’t want to miss this one!
This is the third book in the Love at First Shift series. You should really read the previous books first to understand who all the secondary characters are and why they act the way that they do. This is the story of Bryson and Clayton. Bryson is an alpha dragon shifter. He has moved back to live with his twin brother. He is working two jobs to pay back a debt caused when helping a friend. Clayton is a human omega. He has moved to town to help run the furniture store with his boss. Though lonely, he is happy to be there. When Bryson shows up at the shop to deliver a cotton candy cake, he meets Clayton and immediately shifts. Being a fated mate triggers the shift. Clayton first believes he is hallucinating but his boss sets him straight. And he finds out that he is working for a squirrel shifter at the same time. Neither Clayton nor Bryson believe that they deserve each other. This is their story. While I did enjoy this book it is not my favourite. I just didn't connect with Clayton. For me, he was much too understanding and easy going about shifters and babies. Not that I was looking for drama; but I thought that he would have a harder time accepting and embracing all the changes in his life. So for me, that took away from the story. This book is well written and easy to read. I look forward to the next book in this series.

There wouldn't be much drama in this love story if one of the main characters wasn't a dragon shifter and mpreg wasn't a reality. Clayton, the dragon shifter, and Bryson, the omega human, meet cute and fall instantly in love since they're fated mates. They're both nice guys with no big career goals and fairly modest financial means, who are looking for a solid relationship. Bryson gets on board with "yes, shifters do exist" pretty quickly, and finds himself fitting in to Clayton's extended family rather easily. They support each other as they reveal their emotional baggage and things move along with unexpected, and rapid, success. It was a pleasant story, with a few interesting details about shifters in general and Clayton's assorted relatives in particular. This appears to be book 3 in a series, and I found myself floundering to keep up with the large array of secondary characters and figure out who was married to whom, which ones were related in some fashion, and how many of them were humans. Perhaps if you read the two preceding books it would have been easier to keep them sorted out. Like cotton candy cake, this tale was a little too sweet and simplistic for my taste.

Bryson and Clayton are both really likeable men. Bryson is starting over in a new town, working for the same boss but in a new furniture store. For Clayton, his kindness and willingness to help a friend has landed him in a heap of debt to some nasty people so he's doing whatever he can to earn money. Bryson and Clayton meet in a shocking way but, as they are fated mates, it doesn't take long before they are connecting more deeply. I really enjoyed the playful banter they develop once they get to know each other. I loved the close family ties and the easy acceptance of Bryson into their flight - even though he is human. I didn't like how some parts seemed to feel incomplete or the story would jump ahead by months but it didn't flow smoothly. For example, so much was said about the situation with the loan shark but there was nothing about the final payment being made. Overall, this story was entertaining, low angst, has a great family dynamic, interesting characters, sizzling encounters, sweet love, and a sweeter HEA.

This is the third book in the Love at First Sight series, and can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them in order to get to know other characters in the series. Clayton is an alpha dragon shifter who is in debt because of his former roommate, and he has moved to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Bryson is a human omega working at the furniture store his boss recently opened. When Laden stops by the furniture store to deliver a cake to Bryson’s boss, Laden is overcome with the need to show his true self to this appealing omega and his dragon decides he needs to show up and show off. It doesn’t take long to realize they are fated mates.
I absolutely loved this book. It was cute, funny, and full of sweetness. I think that Clayton was taken advantage of his old roommate, and he was such a good person to honor his debt. I am so glad that he was finally able to come out from underneath that situation and to move on with his sweet omega. THE MC’s had great chemistry, considering that they were destined to be together. They get their HEA. I am looking forward to reading about Laden next.

Bryson has always been a likeable character. We were introduced to him in a previous book when used an opportunity as a fresh start for himself. After learning so much more about Bryson, I couldn't have loved his character more.
Well, this is where the story takes an interesting turn...
Clayton is such a kind alpha, who helped some in nee and it landed him in a precarious situation. He takes his brother up on his offer to move and also make a fresh start, pay off his debt and have a little peace of mind.
Fate had other plans.
I could not stop laughing at the way these two met. The complete freakout was well worth Bryson's crash course introduction to the paranormal world.
Complete with newfound family, secrets revealed, and lots of babies!
I really enjoyed the previous stories between Cedric and Abel and Kirin and Aldo. This one between Bryson, Aldo’s right hand at the furniture shop, and Clayton, Laden’s twin, is a nice follow-up. Bryson is human and Clayton is a dragon shifter. They meet one night shortly after Clayton comes to town, and his shift triggers unexpectedly when they learn they are fated mates. As with the two other stories in this series, this one is an instalove with so much more, including a loving dragon family who is all up in each other’s business, great side characters, humor, heat, and a satisfying ending. I really enjoyed this book even though it was lower angst than the others and look forward to the next one on Laden.

Bryson moved with Aldo his boss to start a furniture store plus had to get away from the people that were judging him because of what he father had done. Laden was the store cleaner and talked his twin brother Clayton to move in with him so he did as he didn’t have any money. His roommate got in trouble and Clayton was talked into helping him with his money problems but made it worse for him. Clayton worked at the furniture factory and also helped out in the candy store delivering orders. He took a cotton candy cake next door for Aldo who had left early and his dragon freaked out when he saw and smelled Bryson who felt the pull to him also. Things were going fantastic for them. Good book!.

This is one EGGceptional book with a sweet tooth. I love this world. My old friends welcomed me back. I was caught up in their lives from the first pages. You will love Bryson and Clayton as much as I did. And how great is it that your mate's dragon preened for you to introduce you to the world of shifters. Yes, there is a little drama. There is also nesting in the cave, and a clutch of eggs. Ooh. And the truth behind the mystery of the snake will be revealed. This book is filled with wonder, joy, dragons, a brother’s love. And, the truth that the family you choose is your forever family. Come. Join Bryson and Clayton on their road to HEA. You will be glad you read this fantEGGstic book!.

Bryson and Clayton story was sweet, funny and with a side of adorableness that will make your heart soar while cheering for their family. Loved the way they encounter and the way he accepted his shifter mate as well as the support they receive with their professional life. Loved seeing old characters and how well the new couple is accepted and surrounded by love. Loved the way they connect and complete each other, how they get over their hardships as well as the way they put first their partner happiness and comfort. They are adorable together and the hatching scene will make you wipe tears of joy. It was an amazing read and can't wait to read what happens next.
As with all the collaborative books that Lorelei Hart and Colbie Dunbar have written, you won’t be disappointed with the sweet, but knotty romance between Bryson who is a human and Clayton, who is a dragon shifter. When these two meet, Clayton shifts into his dragon in front of Bryson. Bryson learns a lot about shifters and how Clayton is his fated mate. Clayton had gotten himself into some trouble, but they are able to work through them with the help of Clayton’s family, there is a happily ever after for them and three little surprises.
I was given a copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
I am liking this 'Love at First Shift' series by these esrablished writers in the shifter/ mpreg romance scene. The dragon MC literally shifts when he meets his fated in this series. This time it is Clayton who surprises Bryson when his dragon appears. Their (insta) love story develops and meet up with all the dragons, their partners and children. And ofcourse the nesting / hatching cave came back. The men become parents to several headstrong and sweet children and find their hea on the dragon mountain.

This is another great book with dragons. Alpha dragon shifter Clayton is living with his brother Laden and working two job trying to get enough money to pay a loan shark that he had to borrow money from. Bryson is a human working in the furnature store. He has worked for Aldo for several years and never suspected that there were shifters in the world. When Bryson and Clayton meet for the first time in the furnature storeClayton shifts into his dragon. Will Clayton get over his fear of not having enough for his mate?????.

Loved this. Bryson followed Aldo to the new town to work for his furniture store. Clayton is in the city and is down on his luck. He gets a call from his twin telling him to come home. He starts working at a candy store as a delivery driver. When he goes to brink a cake to Aldo, he meets Bryson instead. He shifts not his dragon as he realizes that Bryson is his mate. Clayton explains more about dragons and the supernatural. Sweet novella with fated mates and babies. Cannot wait to read Laden’s book.
Clayton is delivering to his cousin's shop when he meets Bryson. Dragon shifter Clayton has debts since he tried to help his roommate and has college loans to pay off so he is glad when his twin Laden tells him their is a job for him with the family business and a place he can stay. Then making a delivery he meets Bryson a human who works with his cousin. t first Bryson thinks it is Laden but then starts to feel differently than he ever has about him and realises this must be his twin.

I really do love dragon shifters and I'm having so much fun reading this series of dragons. Every story is sweet and this one is really sticky sweet and adorable. Bryson and Clayton instant connection was felt from the first meet up and eventhough there were some hardships to overcome, their bond grew stronger...all you need is love...and that right there keeps me coming back for more. This story is filled with a lot of love, sweet mating heat, strong family bond and adorable babies. I know others will enjoy this as much as I did.

Great addititon to the series. Alpha Clayton did a favor for a room mate and ended up endebted what seems like for life. He moved in with his twin and ended up accidentally meeting his mate, Bryson. Clayton, accidentally presents his dragon when he sees Bryson and a whole new world opens up for both men. Does Clayton clear his debt? Does Bryson accept that shifters exist? Do they share their secrets? Interesting story. Nice to see old friends from prior stories. Nice story. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
That was an enjoyable read. It was relaxing and light and HEA guaranteed. I initially thought that Bryson was going to be the Alpha but it works, too. I enjoyed reading about Clayton's and Bryson's characters and relationship growth.
My mind is discombobulated about a human carrying and laying 3 dragon eggs, though. How did they fit and how did they come out?.

ConfEGGtionary is Book 3 in the Love At First Shift series. This is a sweet fated mates story about Bryson, a human omega, and Clayton, an alpha dragon shifter. It was great to see Clayton's family support him and want to keep him around. I'm glad Bryson got his happy ending. He's such a sweet character and the perfect mate for Clayton. I'm really enjoying this series and look forward to the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
Bryson is an omega human who moved to a new town to start his life over. Clayton an alpha dragon shifter thought his life was away from his family living in the city. Things didn't turn out the way he thought and he ended up back home. When they meet Clayton's dragon comes out because they're mates. Bryson realizes that Clayton is who he wants and things just start getting better and better. I really enjoyed this book and have enjoyed the whole series, so far.
I enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I really liked both alpha dragon Clayton and omega human Bryson. They were cute together and had immediate chemistry. It was nice seeing characters from the previous books. The reason for Clayton being in debt made me angry actually that he put himself in that position trying to help his roommate. This book also gave me a fierce craving for cotton candy cake- which I've never heard of but MUST try! 4 stars.
Clayton is an alpha dragon shifter who was in a financial mess. He twin brother invited him to go and live with him on Dragon Mountain. Bryson is an Omega human who moved to Dragon Mountain when his boss married and moved his store there. When they meet Clayton knows Bryson is his mate. Sweet, steamy, fun story with amazing chemistry, love, laughter, wonderful family and a beautiful HEA.

Accepting an offer to stay with his twin gives Clayton a new lease on his life as he meets his mate Bryson with a startling method. I like how all his troubles are dealt with and they start a happy life together where they love. As a bonus, Clayton gets a job he loves as well.
Another sweet and cute chapter in this series. Clayton has gotten himself into some trouble prior to meeting his mate, and is afraid to admit it. Luckily, Bryson is sweet and understanding, even with all the new things he's learning. Well-written, easy plot, great characters, and fun times ensue with new babies on the way.
Clayton has landed himself in a bit of a spot and is trying to work his way out of it. One of his jobs get him making a sweet delivery and into his life comes his unexpected but very welcome human mate Bryson.
A good addition to the series with a bit of drama, good characters, nesting, egg laying and a lovely sense of family in the plot. 3.5 stars for me.
Sweet story about Clayton, a dragon shifter and Bryson a human. When Clayton is offered a job with his cousin he meets Bryson. On their first encounter Bryson realises it was not Laden but his twin brother, who was handsome. As soon as Clayton comes near Bryson he knows he's found his mate. Exciting fun read
