Snowed In with the Rancher

Rate this book
Can her ray of sunshine melt his icy heart?

Recently dumped by her boyfriend, Triss Young accepts the unexpected offer from her best friend to travel to Colorado and spend Christmas with Hannah and her uncles. But when Triss’s plane lands in Denver and Hannah’s is rerouted because of snow, Triss heads to the ranch alone and is surprised when a blue-eyed, sexy rancher with dog tags answers the door.

Grumpy rancher Asher Harris doesn’t know what to make of the beauty who showed up on his doorstep at midnight, covered in snow and hell-bent on snuggling goats. He’s got a lot of work to do on the ranch and doesn’t have time to entertain, even though he can think of a few ways he and Triss could stay warm.

However, this Christmas seems to be full of surprises for everyone, as Triss proves herself to not only be a natural with the horses, but she’s up for anything—even mucking stalls. Is she also the breath of fresh air and happiness Asher didn’t know he needed?

A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn't end up in the air conditioner. But when the kids are at school and it's not quite wine o'clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.

A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With single dads, firefighters, Navy SEALs, mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, Whitley’s books have all the funny and fabulously filthy words you could hope for.

Snowed In With The Rancher (Young Sisters #2) by Whitley Cox

I love stories set over the holiday period and could not wait to read Snowed In With The Rancher and it most assuredly put me in the mood for the Christmas season. When Triss Young is dumped by her creep of an ex boyfriend it leaves her with a dilemma since they also lied together.

Escaping to Denver for Christmas (even though thanks to a snowstorm she has to go alone) she has no idea how that decision will change her life. Arriving at the ranch she is surprised to learn that her best friend Hannah’s grumpy uncle is not as old as she expected; in fact Asher is very attractive.

Snowed in together the sparks quickly ignite and lines are crossed. However what happens when the past comes back to haunt them.? Can they come to terms with it and in doing so move on and find a lasting love together?

The chemistry between Triss and Asher is smoking hot, hardly surprising since I fell hard and fast for Asher, not only is he ex military but he’s a rancher, not a cowboy. I loved our couple and the secondary characters were entertaining, particularly Hannah.
All in all an entertaining well written story that ticked the boxes for me.

This is a well developed book that has a storyline
that pulled me into the pages.
The relationship between Triss and Asher is interesting .
Triss has just broken up with here boyfriend and Asher
has his own demons to deal with.
Can Triss help him to come to turn with all the darkness
he has seen on deployment.
All around its a well balanced read.

I just finished Snowed In With The Rancher by Whitley Cox...AND I LOVED IT!

Holy wow!
Broody grumpy guy does things! He had me at rancher and being an animal lover in the beginning when Triss first showed up. A man showing his love for animals is my weakness haha. When I read of the dog tags I knew he had to have a dark back story and that hits close to home for me.

Triss has the love of her siblings (who ive loves ready about in their own books!) And had a rough go thanks to her asshat of a boyfriend... but her bestie saves the day inviting her to CO with her for Christmas! But gotta love the winter weather. Im an IA girl through and through so I felt for her with the big heavy flakes coming down!

Triss and Ashers story is different but beautiful. Shows love has a mind of its own and there is nothing you can do about it but try to make it work. I wanted to be in the barn with Macklin and Mercy! Those boys sure fought over Triss! And I amazed to meet Carolina and Tilly the Philly so bad! I all but melted when Triss went to sleep in the hay with them and Tilly snuggled up to her! Amd can't forget about Fumble... THE GOAT! Gah he sounds hilarious, I can just picture a cute lil guy bouncing around everywhere and getting into mischief 😊

Thanks for an excellent read Whitley Cox!

4.5 🌟 steamy, stranded in a snowstorm, not quite the normal Christmas read.

Snowed in with the Rancher by Whitley Cox is one of stories included in this new anthology. She delivered my first Christmas read of the year, but not the typical story dressed up with Christmas trees, ornaments, gorging turkey and cookies, and carols. Nope. She gives us the douche bag ex-boyfriend that you can hate on, a hot ‘cowboy’ rancher, a girlfriend matchmaker, and straight talking, no punches pulled heroine. So starts my first Christmas read. Love it!

The story delivers on hot chemistry, broken souls that need some patching and a touch of humor. Both Asher and Triss connect with me and I love their backstories. Triss is one of the five sisters we have been meeting in the Hart brother series, Pasha’s and Rayma’s stories. Asher, what can I say, he’s a cowboy, oops rancher, ex-military. 🤤

Asher’s a rancher, not a cowboy, opens the door expecting his adult niece not a stranger.
Triss’s best friend, Hannah, invited her to join her for Christmas at the ranch with her uncles, so she doesn’t spend it alone, wallowing in self pity after being dumped by her boyfriend. Hannah neglected to tell her they the uncles were nearer their age, not her parents, that they were hot and she is not making it to the ranch due to a snow storm!!!!

I really enjoyed Asher and Triss. Nothing like your niece not giving you a heads up that she’s bringing a friend with her for Christmas. Triss was the unwelcome surprise he didn’t even know he needed. Asher is quiet, grumpy and a little closed off and Triss is bubbly, a talker and wants to help earn her keep while she waits for Hannah to arrive at the farm. Hannah is a huge fan of her uncle being with Triss, but she just got out of a relationship and needs to heal, but a gorgeous distraction just might be what she needs. All it takes is one moment, one kiss and everything changes between them. Spending so much time together the feelings are there and Asher doesn’t know what to do with them. Triss is only there for the holiday and then she goes back to her life. Can he really ask her to stay when he feels he doesn’t deserve her? Loved the chemistry between them the banter and the interactions with all of the animals, this was an amazing read and was just what I needed.

This forced proximity romance is one that captivates you from the beginning. The chemistry that radiates off the characters from the moment they meet would melt snow a foot deep. Asher and Triss are broken pieces that will need each other to mould themselves back together. A story that not only is filled with holiday vibes but is one that will steal your heart. It ticks all the boxes with characters that you connect with and a storyline that won’t allow you to put it down. It was filled with witty banter, drama, seriously steamy scenes and heartfelt moments. Christmas time will be so much better after spending it with these two.

This was another perfect story by Whitley Cox, did I reach for a tissue? Yes I did, and sprinkled with Whitley Coxs marvellous banter add in the hot chemistry between Asher and Triss and this book was always going to be a winner, lonely Rancher Asher was not expecting to have the reaction to his nieces best friend when after a painful break out she ends at his ranch, these two may not know it but they both need each other and it doesn’t hurt that chemistry is explosive.

Who doesn't love a grumpy, irritable rancher with a heart of gold? Asher is an ex-military man who has a dream of living his life on his own terms. Some issues have followed him, but his life on the ranch suits him perfectly. Triss is an unexpected visitor who throws a bit of a wrench into his regimented life. Her presence causes him to re-assess both his outlook and his ability to cope. But will she only be a winter fling? Or can he convince her to stay for longer?

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a fantastic grumpy sunshine romance. I loved Asher and Triss, they had such amazing chemistry and their different personalities just made them an even better match. The story was well written and had a great pace. I read it in one sitting as I just couldn’t put it down. I just loved it.

There isn't a book written by this author that I miss.
I won't and I can't because I adore her.
Whitley Cox is a sweetheart and her books show just that. But she has a kinky side hidden. Lol
Snowed in with the Rancher is her latest release and it's the second book from the Young Sisters novels and explores the lives of Triss and Asher.
Triss' boyfriend dumped her for another girl.
That fact pissed her off but what enraged her more was the fact that he wanted to move the girl into the apartment they shared and that she had to leave.
When her best friend asked her to go spend Christmas with her at her uncle's farm...
After leaving the military, Asher with his brother brought up a ranch.
He was sick of people so his only escape was the farm animals and farm life.
He's not a talkative person, he's super reserved but when a stunning woman knocks at his door...
OMG, I'm in love.
I want horses, I want a goat... But I can't really have it in an apartment right?
That's what I thought.
Stellar plot, well written, super engaging, and beautiful.
No one is too broken to find their happiness.
No one is unlovable, you just have to embrace what love gives you.
The characters worked perfectly with each other and you can feel the love they shared.
It started bumpily but soon it evolved into something more.
It was awesome to see the interaction between the cranky guy and the feisty girl. So so good.
And when the hot stuff appeared... Lord have mercy.
I'm seriously thinking of buying a hot tub... So many great things to do inside one... Lol
And the interactions with the horses, were beautiful, it felt like I was there experiencing everything.
Loved it.
Overall it was another sweet and hot book that melted my heart.
Great book Whitley. Loved it

Snowed in with the Rancher
Whitley Cox
5 stars

Fantastic read set in Whitley Cox' new Young Sisters series.

As a recent dumpee, Triss is healing her more bruised than broken heart over freaking Christmas. The last thing she's going to do is stay cooped up in her apartment with the douchebag and his old-turned-new again girlfriend! Her bestie talks her into spending the holidays together at her uncle's ranch in Denver but a snowstorm means Triss is trapped at the ranch...on her own...with this sexy AF cowboy, er I mean rancher.

Asher Harris is a grumpy, mostly antisocial veteran turned rancher, dealing with the many challenges of running a ranch on his own, (since his brother is also stranded away from home) and his PTSD from two decades of war. The stunning beauty arriving on the ranch was an unexpected complication but she's also turning out to be a hard worker and good company, especially when their chemistry explodes.

These characters were the absolute best. Loved grumpy Asher and sweet, sassy Triss. Her background in dealing with trauma victims really helps her understand and help the wounded Asher navigate his PTSD journey. I love when authors take this battle to heart, helping the person through their trauma and works to give them the happily ever after they so richly deserve; the one we all deserve. Love all the cameos by the other great Cox characters, the siblings had me giggling all the way through! And the animals were characters unto themselves. Loved every minute of this brilliant book.

Triss and Asher’s story set the bar pretty high for my holiday reads! This wasn’t your typical Christmas read with the tree trimming, carol singing, and present wrapping. In fact, it was so much better!

Triss has been dumped by her douchebag (for lack of a better term) boyfriend and kicked out of her home. The last thing she wants to do is to spend the holidays alone with her parents, as her sisters all have plans of their own. Her best friend Hannah talks her into going to Colorado with her and spending the holidays with her grumpy uncles on their family ranch. Triss arrives at the ranch before Hannah and finds that the uncles were not exactly “old” as her friend described.

Asher is anything but old, but certainly is grumpy. He is former military and now spends his time ranching. He was expecting his niece and was greeted instead with Triss. He isn’t really up for playing host, but Hannah ends up not being able to join the due to be stuck in a snowstorm. The chemistry between Triss and Asher is undeniable and they soon act on that chemistry. However, they both have issues that need to be addressed, especially Asher’s PTSD, before they can fully give in to one another.

One very 🌶️ hot tub scene will definitely have you sweating! Absolutely loved these two and the other sisters will have a hard time living up to this one for me!

Triss could not believe it when she stood at midnight, freezing from the knee deep half mile walk in the snow from where the taxi left her, at the door opened by a handsome young man her age! She was expecting a man at least as old as her father. And her best friend Hannah had not told her uncles she was bringing a guest with her to their ranch for Christmas! Finally, Asher invites her in to the guest room down the hall. He never smiles or says 'Welcome.' But Triss is an optimistic, hard working, appreciative gal and Asher is running a ranch that usually keeps him, his younger brother, and several ranch hands busy. When she charms the horses, makes friends with the mean mustang, mucks the stalls, holds the barbed wire together while he's mending the fences, and then helps deliver a prize colt in the middle of the night, Asher is won over. Meanwhile, it keeps snowing as Hannah was diverted to Oklahoma where she falls and breaks her wrist and cracks her hip bone. And the other uncle has detoured on his trip home from delivering a yearling in Texas to pick her up. So how do Asher and Triss get along celebrating Christmas without any decorations, lights, or a tree? This excellent read tells the story.

Another amazing read from a highly talented author.
After being betrayed by her ex Triss finds herself homeless and with the holidays she is thrilled to get an invitation to spend the holidays with her bestie Hannah on her family’s ranch.
Unfortunately for Triss she arrived at the ranch to find Hannah was delayed, she was also surprised to find her friend’s Uncle Asher wasn’t that much older than herself and found him to be so totally gorgeous.
Asher is still dealing with the after effects from his military career and loves the solace of ranch life.
He didnt know that his niece Hannah was bringing a friend to stay for the holidays
and Triss turned out to be the unwelcome guest he didn’t even know he needed.
Asher seems very quiet grumpy and closed off where as Triss is the complete opposite, she’s fun, sweet, and a people pleaser who wants to earn her keep learning about ranch life.
Hannah is delayed and Asher was surprised by the sparks between he and Triss which are off the charts between them.
The chemistry between Triss and Asher was very intense, in fact their emotional connection made their relationship seem very special and seeing Hannah rooting for them was sweet.
Creat Characters that I loved getting to know throughout the book.

Triss Young is coming off a terrible break up and is convinced that snuggling with baby goats is the best way to move on and form a new plan. Her best friend has uncles with a ranch where this can be achieved. Little did she know her friend would get delayed getting to the ranch due to a heavy snow storm OR that the uncles are only a few years older than she is. Oh! Did I mention said uncle is hotter than the sun and grumpier than Scrooge? Triss is there for a reason and I love that she wants to pull her own weight in helping on the ranch. Her interaction with Asher is both delightful and laced with sexual tension. She knows she shouldn’t but yet he’s irresistible to her.
Asher is blindsided by Triss. She is unexpected in several ways. First he really didn’t know she was supposed to be there. His niece didn’t share that info. Second she is nothing like any woman he’s known. She takes on the tasks of ranch life with gusto and truly loves the animals. Third she stirs something in him he didn’t think was possible.
I loved this story. The Young sisters are something special and if you haven’t heard there a few of them. Some have found their HEA and some have yet to.

This is Asher and Triss’s grumpy/sunshine story and it’s the second book in the Young Sisters Series.
Triss has been dumped by her boyfriend just before Christmas and her best friend Hannah comes to the rescue by inviting her to her Uncle’s ranch for the holidays. Problem is a snowstorm means Hannah is delayed and Triss arrives at the ranch with only Asher for company. The grumpy Asher puts the bubbly Triss to work in the hope she will earn her keep but spending time together has sparks flying for this couple which is exactly what Hannah had planned for her best friend and her Uncle. One kiss soon leads to so much more but what happens when it’s time for Triss to go back to her real life ……..
I loved everything about this story, I smiled, I giggled, I swooned and I held my breath as I fell hard and fast for this couple. I found myself cheering them on and hoping they got the HEA they both so deserved.

Absolutely loved this story one grumpy, torn with demons from the past, hot rancher & beautiful, dumped, heart broken woman both broken struck together over Christmas. Triss & Asher's first meeting didn't go quite as planned when she found out her best friend Hannah hadn't told her Uncle that they were both going to be spending the holidays with them but then to find out her flight had been cancelled because of the weather meaning there'd be just her & Asher alone for the forceable future.
There's never a dull moment during her short stay at the ranch theres times when the heat between them is enough to melt the snow away she also catches the attention of two other males at the ranch. This story has you laughing, needing a fan to cool down but is also quite emotional at times together with the wonderful characters crossing over from the other books but also the other habitants of the ranch.
Couldn't recommend this story enough.

Triss has recently been dumped by her boyfriend, and her life was really thrown into chaos because of it. Luckily, she has this amazing best friend who has her back, and invites Triss to spend Christmas with her & her family in Colorado at a ranch so off goes Triss. Things take a complicated turn when the snow has a mind of its own, and Triss ends up going to the ranch alone to come face to face with Asher, a very grumpy rancher who is mouthwateringly hot. He has no idea what to do with Triss, as he's got too much work to do, and yet, it may be the best thing to happen for both of them. This story is filled with Whitley Cox's signature heart & soul so it did a number on my heart on top of all kinds of other goodness. There are sparks flying, and tons of humor with the supporting cast not to mention a scene stealing goat who kept me rolling throughout. I LOVED every minute of this fantastic story so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

He was a slightly dented rancher thinking he was damaged from his time spent serving his country. She was a brokenhearted speech pathologist wondering if she’d wasted her best years on an unworthy man. Thanks to one snowstorm and a redirected flight, they end up alone together on his ranch.
From there, the sparks fly. She’s a chatterbox and he uses his words sparingly but somehow, together they work. Really well.
I loved this story from start to finish. It was steamy and grownup with adult problems instead of just miscommunication. The steam was HOT without being over the top and the romance was regular, every day stuff that makes a girl like me swoon.
Between the animals on the ranch and starry nights in the hot tub, there wasn’t one dang thing to dislike about Snowed in with the Rancher.
Oh and Triss’ best friend Hannah was a hoot and I really hope to see what kind of guy she ends up with!

Snowed In With The Rancher, by Whitley Cox, was such a delight to read! I loved Triss and how she never let the circumstances she found herself in when she got stranded at her BFF Uncle's ranch because of a snowstorm and the fact that this "Uncle" was hot, hot, hot but also grumpy, grumpy, grumpy, never get her down and she was not going to let him ruin her vacation even though Hannah, her BFF was also stranded due to the storm, in a different state, nonetheless! Asher had some definite flaws, but I really liked how he was willing to get the help he needed at the end. This story was not only spicy, but also so wonderfully romantic, as Ms. Cox is so very good at delivering to her readers. It's a complete literary package just waiting to be unwrapped!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Spoilers for one part of the story in this review:

That was a warm, spicy little story that I throughly enjoyed.
Well apart from the part were Dare died.
Note to authors, bump off as many side human characters as you want but DON’T kill the dogs/horses/cats/goats etc etc. The same rules apply to books as to movies!
I was teary eyed and cursing up a storm over Dare!
I loved the grumpy/sunshine aspect of this story. Loved how the author touched on ptsd, sympathetically but without making it the main focus of the book. I definitely wasn’t in the mood for something dark and heavy when I picked this book so I appreciated that.
Our fmc was strong and good natured. I didn’t want to slap her once!
Our mmc was grumpy, a little damaged but also sexy and sweet, I did want to slap him once or twice but that’s the best part of grumpy mmc’s!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

When Triss is dumped by her live-in boyfriend and has no where else to move to a trip with her BFF to Denver for Christmas looks like a good option. That is until a snowstorm shuts down the airports and Triss is left traveling to the ranch without her friend. The grumpy uncle who owns the ranch is supposed to be old and angry, but the sexy man who answers the door is not what she expected. But being snowed in leaves Asher and Triss time to get to know each other and act on the spark that they both feel. Will the skeletons from his past be too much for them to overcome once they come to a head? Or is true love that neither of them saw coming enough to get over the obstacles? Such a good read and such an incredible connection with the characters. I want my own "cowboy" now.

After being betrayed by her boyfriend Triss finds herself homeless so an invitation to spend the holidays with her best friend Hannah at her uncle’s ranch couldn’t have come at a better time. What she wasn’t expecting was for her friend’s arrival to be delayed or that her uncle wouldn’t be that much older than her or so attractive.

Asher is still coping with the after effect of his military career and enjoys the solace that the ranch that he and his brother owns give him. He was unaware that Hannah was bringing a guest let alone that Hannah would be delayed but he is intrigued by Triss and the sparks fly.

The chemistry between Triss and Asher was intense but it was their emotional connection that made their relationship so special.

Well Santa left me Snowed in with the rancher by Whitley Cox. Triss is heartbroken after being dumped by her boyfriend around the holidays. Her BFF Hannah, invites her to her uncles ranch in Colorado. When Triss arrives at the ranch in the middle of a snowstorm, she is greeted by a grumpy, sexy, gorgeous man who had clue who she was and was not aware that his niece invited her friend. What started as an awkward reception, will soon turn into so much more. Both Triss and Asher the rancher are broken, she has broken heart and he suffers from PTSD and has a few triggers. Together, they make a great team, but can it be more than a fling? You have to read this amazing story, with great characters with scorching hot chemistry and loving animals in the mix. This is the second book un the Young Sisters series. Triss is up and boy is this a good book. I couldn't put it down. Being snowed in with grumpy rancher Asher sure sounds like a dream come true especially for Triss. Triss needs a vacation from life to forget about her awful ex. Asher provides the perfect distraction with his body ,but also with taking care of the beautiful personality filled animals. Triss and Asher steam up the pages with their chemistry in this one. What was the worst day in her life be a blessing in disguise leading her to the future she deserves? There are parts in this book that had the tears welling especially the last chapter. The epilogue was so beautiful and so fitting for this couple.

Snowed In With the Ranger is the second book in the Young Sisters series and I loved how this novella-length book continues on from Not Over You with Triss's story. A great combination of humorous dialogues, steamy sexy times, deeper feelings and some pretty troubling subjects cleverly woven in to make the story realistic as well as meaningful. Both Triss and Asher are complex people who are well suited to each other and I loved to see them get their HEA. There are lovely side characters as well as horses which have as much character as the humans!
I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy from the author and am leaving this review freely and honestly.
