i was tryna figure out what sort of monster was that supposed to be on the cover, turns out the mmc is a minotaur. Louis is so sweet and starts reading romance books because the fmc writes them. i will be hearing no criticism cause this delivered… short, spicy & so fun!

Cute overall . Confused by storyline. They meet at a speed dating event, but he's a carnival worker & and apparently, monsters aren't real? It's not very well explained but it makes it seem like people don't think minotours are real etc.. A little bit more world building would have been good.

“I am much more into horns and hooves”

Vanessa got to live out my monster smut dreams!! I’d run off with a circus too if I got to have a Minotaur boyfriend.

“You can’t whip out that beast and then just put him away. I need a sketch,” she exclaimed, reaching into her purse.
“You can’t sketch my penis,” I told her, pressing my pants against my groin.

This was a quick novella about a Minotaur and a monster smut writer. I did really enjoy the book but didn’t like the bookstagram/Booktok lingo. Other than that I really liked that it was Louis’ pov for the whole book. It was interesting being in the monsters head the whole time. Also virgin monster? That was a sweet treat

So good!

I liked this one more than the first one. We don't get as big of a look at the carnival as I would have liked, but the main characters were divine. Their chemistry was off the charts. I do wish it was a dual POV, but liked it so much. I really got why he didn't read the mothman's story; I can't read romance books where the H has the same name as people in my family. Can't wait to see where the next one takes us.

Eeeeee this was so cute. I love Minotaurs. This was a carnival monster speed dating romance where the big hearted (ahem) Minotaur falls for the monster romance writer. Extra spicy. And who doesn't love a man who is willing to read our weird romance books for inspo?!? I have already recommended this to my monster smut book club.

Look, I wanted to love this and I LOVE Minotaur romance and smut but it just fell really flat. The writing was kind of lifeless and you don't get a sense for the characters at all. There's no bonding or romance or anything they have in common and the smut wasn't very detailed or long. It's all very one dimensional and I hate to be that guy but that's not a bull skull, it's more of a ram.

each book is better

I LOVE the creativity in this series, and writing your own books into the book? Like, that’s genius. I loved this so much.

I loved this. All of it. The virgin minotaur, the monster romance author, the smut. And it's a treat to get another glimpse into the carnival's inner workings. Rebecca does an amazing job at introducing a strange and new world bit by bit and making it feel organic.

And her characters are always adorable, without crossing into cheese and insta-love territory. These stories so far are about choosing to trust and work on what feels right, without the security of mate bonds. One just happens to be a monster. All the better, if you ask me.

I enjoyed this little tale. There was something delightfully wholesome about a grumpy vegetarian Minatour doing a speed dating event. It was funny but then turned sexy how he tried to convince Vanessa he was a real monster.

Very cute and very sexy.

**Tropes**
- Run away to the Circus
- Into the Unknown
- Monsterfudger Writer in a Monsterfudger Book
- Be Careful What You Wish For
- Virgin MMC

📖 **My Thoughts**
This is the second book in the Carnival series, and like it’s predecessor it’s short and very sweet. Here we have Louis, the virgin Minotaur who likes to read non-fiction, and Vanessa, the monsterfudger book writer who came to the Carnival for inspiration for her next book. I loved Louis, he’s such a sweetheart and so adorably flustered with Vanessa’s interest. Vanessa herself is like goals for me, writing spicy book and going to macabre after dark Carnival dates with a monster. She’s living the dream! I love how the addition of Justine (Book 1’s FMC) to the Carnival has affected things so drastically. She’s really putting in work to make everyone’s lives better and it’s so cool to see that actually affect the setting.

⚠️ **Triggers**
- None that I can think of?

🌶️ **Spice**
Fairly good spice, a little better written than the first one. Nothing too kinky. MMC gets his cherry popped, which is cute.

“Where were we?” I asked hesitantly. “Well, I thought you had invited me back to your camper to have some fun, if that is what you are still after. Because, real monster or not, I was already willing to take you for a ride.” My eyes widened. Images of the princess riding the minotaur crossed my mind. I wanted that. I so wanted her to ride me, grab my horns, use me as her monster.

Vanessa is a monster smut writer who just so happens to meet her own personal Minotaur at a speed dating event. What better way to write some monster smut than to actually live it??

This was such a good story! Louis was such a golden retriever with a spicy side and Vanessa knew exactly what she wanted and went for it. They are absolutely perfect for each other.

This was a fun short read.

A virgin minotaur hiding in plain sight and a monster smut author looking for inspiration. I have a feeling she was VERY inspired in the end. I wish this had been longer! The MC chemistry was sweet, the side characters complimented the story and I'm sure everyone appreciates a MMC that is very willing to educate himself for his partner. Looking forward to the novellas of the other carnival inhabitants. Maaaaybe I'll be able to convince myself to read In His Web.

I really enjoyed this cute, spicy and quick romance between a minotaur and an author. I am totally enthralled by this carnival of curiosities and can't get enough of these monsters looking for love. I was a little worried about Vanessa's intentions to be honest... But she really did fall for Louis and gave him everything he was looking for. I especially loved that they'd read romances together. Looking forward to Pricked!!

This is a monster romance. It takes place at a monster carnival. It's between Louis and Vanessa. Louis is a minotaur. Vanessa is a author of monster smut novels, who is looking for inspiration. Vanessa meets Louis. I think Louis was fairly innocent before meeting Vanessa. It's a steamy but short book. The carnival is only in town for a limited time though.

It was over too quickly.
I honesty could have read about this couple for hours. Virgin minotaur meets spicy author and they reenact spicy book scenes.
HEA. My hour reading this book was not wasted.
Did it need another edit- yes
Did it distracted me enough to bother me - no.
Will I read the next one - of course .

this series is something else

3.25

Okay while I liked this story more and it was a little bit more down to earth. I was low key missing the smut that happened in the first book.

This series is so interesting I honestly just finish a book and start the next because if I sit and think about it, it’ll get weird. LOL.

Loved It!!

This was a late night read before sleep and I have to admit, that as much as I loved the first book, this one topped it with so much humour.
Loved this pair, the shy minotaur and sassy writer of erotic monster tales! :D So looking forward to reading through this series.

Vanessa and Louis

Vanessa meets Louis while he's working with a traveling carnival. He's a Minotaur and she thinks it's a costume. When she finds out he's real she's intrigued. This is a spicy short read.

I've been enjoying these and I was excited to read about the minotaur. I have read a few other minotaur ones, but this one was different as he keeps to himself and is inexperienced. I loved watching Louis come out of his shell with Vanessa. On to the next!
