Being Human is the extraordinary new book that articulates a grand unified vision of reality through the Entheological Paradigm. Skillfully avoiding all speculation and metaphysics, Martin W. Ball, Ph.D., presents a concise explanation for the fundamental nature of reality as the fractal expression of a Unitary Energy Being (God). Ball explores how intentional work with entheogens, such as 5-MeO-DMT, gives individuals direct access to their immediate energetic natures. Through such practices, individuals can liberate themselves from the restrictive confines of their illusion-bound egos and embrace their personalities and bodies as direct expressions of God in physical and conscious form. Radical in its implications, stunning for its simplicity, Being Human is humanity’s long-awaited guide to genuine fulfillment, transcendence, and global harmony and peace. If you feel ready to understand and experience the truth for yourself, then Being Human is the only book you will ever need.
Martin W. Ball, Ph.D., is a writer, independent publisher, energy worker, visionary artist, and musician currently living in Ashland Oregon. In the spring of 2009 Martin underwent a profound energetic opening and transformation - the result of intensive work with entheogenic medicines and a year of profound self-exploration. The result is Martin's articulation of what he calls the "Entheological Paradigm," a Grand Unified Theory of all of reality from God to the direct experience of each human being, which he characterizes as an articulation of his view on “radical nonduality.” His approach is unique in that he sees the tension between duality and nonduality not as a spiritual or religious issue, but as an energetic issue that can best be addressed through the intentional use of powerful entheogens, such as 5-MeO-DMT. As such, his approach is thoroughly practical, straight-forward, and free of metaphysics, speculation, and attachment to spiritual or religious ideologies and mythologies. The result is a view of the nature of reality and the self that is challenging, liberating, and powerfully transformative, pointing to the true nature of being and personal responsibility as an energetic being.
Martin earned his B.A. at Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1994 where he studied Philosophy and Religious Studies. From there he went to graduate school at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Religious Studies in 2000 with an emphasis on Native American traditions, Philosophy of Science and Religion, and the Phenomenology of Mystical and Shamanic Experience, as well as the role of entheogens in religious and spiritual experience. For his Ph.D. dissertation, Martin performed fieldwork at the Mescalero Apache reservation in New Mexico where he studied with a number of medicine people and researched the Mescalero Mountain Spirit tradition.
Currently, Martin works as an adjunct professor teaching Religious Studies and Native American Studies in southern Oregon. He also provides personal healing and energy sessions for those looking to advance on their personal paths to authentic being, and enjoys servicing others as the ultimate "reality coach" for those who are truly ready to transcend their egos and embrace their true energetic natures as embodiments of the One Being. His methods are direct, immediate, and involve no ceremony, ritual, or spiritual practice, and instead rely on the direct and profound expansion into one’s fully infinite natural state of universal being.
Martin is also a prolific writer, composer, and musician. His most recent books include the psychedelic novel, Beyond Azara: A Universal Love Story, the ebook, All is One: Understanding Entheogens and Nonduality, and the fractal art book and “owner’s manual” of God’s Handbook for Operation Human Vehicles: A No Nonsense, No Strings Attached Approach to Universal Being. In addition to these works, his most influential and ground-breaking work remains his 2009 book, Being Human: An Entheological Guide to God, Evolution, and the Fractal, Energetic Nature of Reality. He is currently completing an autobiographical work, tentatively titled Being Infinite: One Man’s Journey into the Limitless Eternal.
This book looked rather promising. Many good words in the title, and the dude's got a PhD. I have finally found a book that answers all of life's big questions.
Boy was I wrong.
It's hard to describe the level of absurdity in this book without a few quotes, so here's how it goes.
My goal is to present to the reader a basic account of the true nature of reality without any fluff, fantasy, story, or unnecessary metaphysics or speculation.
This looks like a good start.
A key to understanding this profoundly interconnected nature of reality is the energetic mathematics of fractals and geometry.
I'm listening.
Infinity loops were clearly a major upgrade in the energetic blueprint of living beings. Beings were able to process far more information, they became more mobile, they developed more conscious awareness of their physical world through their sense organs (as based on infinity loops), and therefore became much more suitable vehicles for God to get around in as they more accurately reflected God’s nature as a self-aware, conscious, living being that can exercise free will in its process of being itself..
I think you've lost me.
God had a great time. Dinosaurs were a lot of fun. They could swim, fly, run, crawl, climb, etc. There was a lot for God to do in those forms and evolution progressed nicely. The only problem was those big lizards weren’t very smart. After millions of years, their potential as true God vehicles just wasn’t quite satisfying. So, this is when God introduced dimethyltryptamine into the mix.
You can't make this shit up. DMT was created by God because the dinosaurs built out of his fractal infinity loops weren't satisfying enough. It doesn't get any less wild. Dr. Ball just keeps going strong for the entire book.
Halfway through the book I began to question Dr. Ball's qualifications. So I looked them up. He earned his PhD in Religious Studies. I have a theory that when an author puts "PhD" in their name on a book, it indicates that they have no other qualifications.
The rest of the book is like a middle-school dodgeball game where the other team has all the balls, and you're the only one left. All the balls are nonsensical things like the Ego, fractals, God, energy flows, and entheogenic experience. And they all hit you at the same time in a pile of preposterous statements murmuring something about how "Everything is an illusion except reality."
In dismissing all religion and claiming to have a science-backed reality, the author creates an entirely new religion of his own.
I highly recommend this terrible book so that you can gain a sense for the diversity of realities swimming around in some of those other sentient creatures in the world.
Phenomenal. I loved this book so much that I had no choice but to reach out to Martin and try to poke holes in his ideas.
I wasn't successful.
Since reading it, I've ditched my previous belief in agnosticism being the most rational way of interpreting the world.
Martin emphasizes that 5-Meo-DMT is superior to any other form of entheogen to help us understand the nature of reality.
After reading 200 books, going on a 10-day vipassana retreat, and interviewing influential figures such as Elliott Hulse - I'm yet to uncover a better explanation of the nature of reality.
I came upon Martin Ball as an interesting guest interviewed by Leo Gura from Actualized.org on Leo's YouTube-channel. I liked Martin's humorous, down-to-earth way of viewing his own enlightenment experiences. I also loved his awesome music. So naturally, I wanted to read his book too. This is a great book to help guide us all find our way towards the global spiritual awakening. How can it not be five stars, when one experience of being human/God sincerely reads and appreciates another human/God's work? If you don't understand what I mean, definitely read the book! If you do, but needs a reminder of who you are, read it as well! I will probably re-read it myself at some point too.
Ball seems to have a solid understanding into the true nature of reality. However, some of these ideas seem to be perceived as definitive truth and I think he oversteps the boundaries of human intelligence. All in all a solid read into the self exploration of what it means to be human.
Relatively short and concise metaphysical description of being a human. It contains advice and tips on how to transcend the ego and how to glimpse our true nature.
a great insight by MWB in educating us in a world of physical universal truths about god, us, and inyruducing the reader to the effects of entheogens. down side: he shouldn't have bagged Terence. makennas doctrines. S.
