I enjoyed the pictures and was pleasantly surprised to see how many places are still standing -- or they were 15 years ago.

Have you ever wanted to be part of the editorial team? I did with this book. People who are extremely familiar with the area will be able to fully appreciate the text and photos. I am familiar with many of the locations and know some of the history of EP, but even so I stumbled over street names and directions (N of ..., to the E ...), and explaining one site by referencing another didn't help.

However, a person who reads and re-reads, studies the map, and stands on location will learn a lot.

This was fun to skim through when staying in Estes Park Colorado this summer. The before and after photos and text were fun to explore and the history of Estes Park unfolded in a fun way for me. Not surprised to see several notable Kansans had summer homes here.

Fascinating book for anyone interested in seeing how Colorado has (and hasn't!) changed over the years and picking up a little bit of local history in the process.
