Set in the English Civil War, this is a tale of two heroes, William Sparrow, for parliament, and Hugo Telling, for King. While they are involved in the bloody siege of Bristol, Bella Morrison makes the best of the upheaval by furthering herself and escaping the strictures of family life.

Bristling!

I really enjoyed this novel set in the West Country where I live. I have been to the area described many, many times but did not realise its history. The writer gave me insight into times gone by and the events that took place there. Well written!
