When I was a teenager I discovered Mills & Boon romances in my local library, and so began a lifelong love affair. I still remember that feeling of anticipation when I settled down with a pile of books - all bearing the famous rose logo - knowing that I would be drawn into a world of love, passion and emotional intensity that I have never found in any other books. I enjoy reading a wide range of books, especially historical novels, and I am a big fan of Agatha Christie, mainly I think because her characters seem so real, but I love romances and unashamedly admit that I only want to read books with a guaranteed happy ending. Reading is my joy and pleasure and I don’t want to cry buckets at the end of a book or have my sleep disturbed by its gruesome content.
For me, the characters in Harlequin Mills & Boon romances are the key. I love reading and writing about strong, alpha heroes and feisty, independent heroines who find that they can’t fight the blazing attraction between them.
When I married my own tall, dark, but sadly not wealthy hero, we moved out of London to the Kent coast and started a family that grew and grew. I adore my six children, and when they were small I loved being a stay-at-home mum, but there can be days, as I’m sure many of you know, when you feel isolated and – dare I say it – bored of conversing with three-year-olds. Harlequin Mills & Boon romances were my life-line and my sanity and I read them whenever I had a spare five minutes (in the bath, pacing the floor at three am with colicky baby on one shoulder and a book in the other hand!)
My imagination soared and I decided to try and write a book myself. My first attempt was typed up on a manual type-writer with the full-stop key and the letter p missing. Luckily my hero and heroine were not called Paul and Poppy, but it still meant going over my manuscript with a pen to fill in the gaps!
That first book was duly rejected as were my next two. I suppose I was disheartened and by now I had four small children and very little spare time, so although I continued to read romances, I gave up writing. It wasn’t until my youngest son started school that I tried writing again. I was struggling to come to terms with the death of my darling mum Gabrielle and writing became my therapy. Mum had always nagged me to get on and write a book and had an unshakeable belief that I would one day be published – I’m so glad that she was proved right and my biggest regret is that she isn’t here to share my success with me.
I wrote two more books which were both rejected by HM&B, but I was given some advice on my writing from the editorial team that encouraged me to try again. Third time lucky certainly applied to me – the day I received ‘the call’ was exactly four years after Mum had died. It was one of the most exciting moments of my life - but instead of chatting to the editor about contracts I had to dash off and pick my sick daughter up from school. Reality is never far away in my house!
I have now had nine books published - At the Sheikh's Bidding was released in September 08. My next book, Argentinian Playboy, Unexpected Love-Child will be out in the UK in July 09, and The Greek Billionaire's Innocent Princess in the UK in August 09. I have just had my twelfth book accepted and am already busy on my thirteenth. Now that my children are growing up I am able to write every day between 9 am and 3 pm, but often I become so involved with my characters that I sneak off to write again in the evening!

It's official. I'm a jaded romance reader.
This story has all the elements of a classic HP. The billionaire hero vows revenge on the sweet virgin heroine who he thinks was having an affair with his brother-in-law, thus causing his sister to run out in front of a car. He'll not only ruin her father's jewelry business but seduce her and dump her.
I know. I've read this before. And I can't fault Chantelle Shaw for following the HP rules. Right down to the Mary Sue heroine with the traitorous body, the hero with a bad track record with women, and a last minute "betrayal" for the black moment.
It's not the story. It's me.
I need more and more angst for my fix? Is that it? I know if this was the first HP I'd ever read I would have loved it. I still *liked* it. I just couldn't thrill along with the heroine - and I couldn't even hate on the hero because he couldn't hold a candle to the stinkers created by Julia James or Robyn Donald or Margaret Pargeter or Jane Corrie or - well, the list is endless.
So if you want a standard revenge HP to pass the time but not keep you up fuming, this one is for you.

Okay, the hero was an ass hat and treats the heroine HORRIBLY. He thinks she slept with his sister's husband as well as other married men and simply hates her.
She, of course, is not only a saint in the making but a virgin one.
I don't know if his magic penis is better than most, but it seems like it must be. She melts every time he touches her even after calling her some really nasty terms. It is only once he figures out she's a virgin that he cuts her some slack.
Average by-the-numbers Harlequin. She's pretty sweet and a hard worker; he's sexy and is able to grovel so 3 stars.

Wow! I adored this couple and the angst! Hero was alpha and sexy and the love scenes full of passion and emotion. Epilogue was super adorable. I loved reading about Tahlia's pregnancy and her HEA with her sexy Greek tycoon.

Thanos (the H) thinks Tahlia (the h) seduced his sister's husband because she (the sister) found the h and her husband in a hotel. So she had an accident afterwards and almost dies. The H practically raised his sister and she is his only living relative so obviously he's furious and wants revenge. The h's family is going through a difficult financial problem and the H is the only one in the entire world that can solve that problem so it's revenge time.
I don't mind a h that sells her body to save the family, I would do it if the guy was a super sexy tycoon... Obviously those are non existent in my ranch and we don't have a family mansion to preserve so...
My point is that I enjoyed it. I loved the h insisting on her ways, I think she over did the guilt about Melina though.
I love it when the joke is on the H, and also when h gives him the same treatment: not listening to his explanations. Oh and rejecting a marriage proposal because it didn't include love is a fave of mine too.

First the cover makes no sense. They don’t “I do” for the plot of the story. He was lazy in his research of his ‘victim’. “You work? You are a virgin? Your mother is sick? Tabloids lie?!” Can he just take some freaking responsibility? He messed up too many times for her to forgive him. I know he ‘made things right’ for her family but HE WASN’T going to! For some reason that is skipped. Than how he treated her when she left. Our poor poor heroine! Jeez. Old boyfriend died, new boyfriend lied about being married, mom sick, aunt sick, dad going bankrupt, hero putting the blame of his sister’s accident on her shoulders, can’t leave or be productive on her own, hero screws her over and still didn’t believe her or see her for who she was, aunt dies, gets knocked up by jerk hero...it’s...its a lot. Who wanted to read the hero sister’s romance with hot doctor?! I totes did. I’d say read cause it’s not bad but hero needs to take all the responsibility for all things. Side note...what did the hero do to his brother in law?! He put in A LOT of work hurting the innocent heroine, so what the heck did he do to the real villain here?

Wow..what an amazing comfort read. I can give it a billion stars!!! Just a perfect variation of pride and prejudice!!! Thalia was the sweetest h, and Thanos was a true alpha. Not a single page was out of context and both the h and H had all the qualities I look for.
Thalia is a sweet girl forced to meet an investor when her father's company is about to go bankrupt. She meets Thanos who is bent on avenging the wrong done to his sister. He wrongly assesses Thalia's character and says hurtful things!
Later when he realizes his grave error he just comes about to his knees. He is SUCH A tender lover that my heart and legs and body and soul was jelly!!! He makes sure Thalia is treated right for the wrong he's done her!!
What a perfect, comfort read for a day when you need some feel goods. I adored this book!!

liked it but the plot was something I'd come across a million times before. So nothing new here. however, this was my first Chantelle Shaw and I can say I will definitely be picking up her other books, coz the writing was good.

Totally liked it. I liked both the characters.
The h was a strong woman yet had a golden heart, she might be a virgin and a little bit vulnerable at times. But when times came hard for the thing that matters, she's a kind of person who you want to be with.
The H was not really hateful. He misjudged the h but he believed her early in the story (and only based on her words too!) and tried to make things right until there's a slight missed communication in his company that h left him in result. I'd say that's what would happen if you owned too much companies :))
Overall, this is a good story where the characters is both lovable too. Recommended for a mild romance.

this is one of my fav plots and i absolutely loved how thanos cud not resist thalia! still, der was smthg missing in the book. i guess it lacked spice/intrigue. they did nthg apart having sex!lol.

It’s a yawn. Think of all the revenge plots, blackmail, semi-forced mistress, incredibly good looking h and H, stir and serve. It’s ok but lacking any spark. And it is graphic with too many pages and plot devoted to bed.

It was an ok book. I mean, it started off good and all. I did enjoy it. But I dunno, I felt it was lacking something to make it simply perfect. Maybe its just me, though.
However, I did enjoy their romance. I liked seeing how much she meant to him from his point of view. However, in this case, I couldn't really get why she loved him. I mean, he was nice and all, but I didn't understand why she suddenly felt her heart was in danger. Sure, he's hot, rich, sweet, nice, funny, but that doesn't mean everyone's gonna fall in love with him? I dunno, perhaps it would have been more convincing to say how she fell in love with him. Cos just sleeping together every night won't make you fall in love. Ok I think what i'm mainly trying to say is that I couldn't feel her love for him.
I must say though, I loved the beginning. The deal that he struck with her was screwed up, but well, that deal did lead them to falling in love with each other! I guess the beginning was better than the end...
Um, but I did enjoy seeing more of the guy's, whatever his name was, thoughts and I could actually see the depth of his love for her.
Overall, it was a pretty alright book. Nothing special, but not bad either. Pace was pretty fine I think but the conversation between them after they sorted out their problems weren't impactful. I did enjoy their quarrels though, it was heated enough and emotional enough. One thing I couldn't stand was how he just leapt to conclusions and convicted her. But at least he had the decency to apologise later and his apology was pretty good actually!
Eh, one last thing. I liked how she left him. That one I could remember... It was pretty nice and he was actually a very decent man when he actually deposited money into her father's bank. Haha I realised that if I had written this review straight after reading I would have given it 4 stars, now after reading an excellent book and doing 2 reviews for excellent books, I can only give this 3 stars.
Oh and sorry for the incoherence in this review. I realise my reviews are mostly incoherent, but this is extra incoherent, I guess cos its 2.25am and I did reviews for 2 other excellent books so this book doesn't really strike a chord with me... I barely remember it, though I just read it today...

Esse tipo de mocinho me revolta, precipitado, arrogante e muito mal informado. E pior de tudo, acredita em jornais e revista de fofoca, esse é o pior tipo.
A humanidade inteirinha, sabe que não se deve acreditar neste tipo de mídia corrupta e sensacionalista. Mas o espertalhão acredita, porque é conveniente.
Já a mocinha, desenvolve um fetiche absurdo por ser chamada de prostituta, é a única explicação que tenho para entender, a apaixonite aguda que ela tem por um grego chato e bobalhão.

Ok, tienen que saber que este libro tiene todos los clichés habidos y por haber en la literatura romántico erótica, pero pese a eso ¡me encanto! La interacción entre los protagonistas me pareció de lo mas dulce y sexi que he leído, y aunque el libro es muy cortito lo disfrute al máximo. Definitivamente voy a buscar mas libros de esta autora, por que me encanto su talento para crear una historia que te despierte sentimientos en tan poco tiempo, además de que su pluma es super fluida.
Así que, si son amantes de los libros de romance tienen que leer “castigo y placer” que puede que nadie conozca este libro, pero créanme que es una historia para pasar un muy buen rato y suspirar sin parar.
Y si, mi reseña es muy corta pero no pidan mas de un libro de apenas 150 páginas 😉.

Fantastic reading
I really enjoy this book from the beginning to the end. The H wasn't to cocky to admit that he made a mistake in his judgment of character towards the h. Her forgiveness made this story really enjoyable. I shall be looking forward to reading more books from this author. Good writing.

This is one of those decent HQ romance. The initial misunderstanding gets resolved in the first 1/3 of the book, the rest is the development of the romance. I enjoy reading the romance, it's quite believable, with the exception of the "plot-device misunderstanding" near the end.
