My girlfriends and I kept this book checked out all of 8th grade. We just passed it back and forth! It's full of that perfect teen angsty stuff, pretty tame but somehow it was super hot back then!
Last year a friend asked, "do you remember that book...", and I answered before she finished. I never forgot this book. Remembered the title and author and that she was working on a sequel.
I tracked a pretty decent copy down online and it now sits on my bookshelf with my most fave books.
I can't remember many scenes from the story, but somehow I can't forget them either. Just one of those stories that stuck with me (and a handful of my best 8th grade friends).

I thought this book was OK. I gave it four stars because I saw how much the author struggled to really represent some of these issues. However, I thought some of the characters were not very realistic and some of the points she was trying to portray were glaring in your face as you read.

This book took a really serious look about teenagers that think they can solve their problems by drinking. Luckily the main character does do the right thing in the end, but I enjoyed this book for many reasons. Firstly, the notes at the beginning of the chapters were written so well. They kind of set up what was going to happen in the chapter. The main characters voice was also mature for a 16-year-old, and that was so refreshing to see.
A quick enjoyable young adult read.
