Some good information on history, politics, and social issues but poorly written and badly edited.

Dense, but very informative. Some of the writing might have been lost in translation.

This book provides a brief overview of the history, foreign policy, economy and society of Pakistan. The first part of the book is a brief summary of Mr Jaffrelot's other work Pakistan Paradox. The only problem that I had with this book was the fact that it was very boring and much of the fault lies on the part of the translator. Pakistan Paradox was a much more exciting read.
Recommend for students who don't have much time to read other works of Mr Jaffrelot.
