A lonely vampire thinks he has found the love of his life–but his happiness is threatened by a vampire hunter determined to collect his bounty.
When Chris Jeffries is rescued from a vicious beating by a tall dark stranger, it's not difficult to imagine he'd be willing to reward the stranger with more than just a handshake. Getting to know Chris better is very much on Carlos Galeano's mind also–the lonely vampire, still grieving over the death of his lover, feels that at last he has found the one to make his existence more bearable.
The two embark on a relationship that, at first, seems to be all they can desire and hope for. But trouble in the guise of Martin Kellogg, a vampire hunter, along with Frank and Billy, two petty criminals, soon disrupts Carlos and Chris's dreams of a happy ever after ending to their idyllic bond.
Carlos turns to his friend Marcus Verano for help in thwarting the vampire hunter's attempts to track him down. Martin regards Chris as the bait that will lead him to Carlos, and after a couple of narrow escapes from the hunter, Carlos decides that in order to protect Chris, he must tell him the truth–a decision that may forever end his dream of an enduring love.

Leaving home at age eighteen for the bright lights of London, he found himself in the midst of a “diverse and creative crowd” that eventually led him to the performing arts. For the next twelve years he sang, danced and acted his way around the theatres of London and the provinces, appearing in shows with many famous British singers, actors and comedians.
After immigrating to the US and living for many years in Las Vegas where he worked for that incomparable duo, Siegfried and Roy, J.P. found himself entranced by the fair city of San Diego where he currently lives with his partner, Phil.

This is the fifth book out of a series and I have not read the first four.(Her other books could be Great!) That said I don't really think that it would have made this book any better for me.
There are several reasons why:
This story has been done before. I knew what was going to happen before I was a quarter way through the book. (Now this might be because I've read most of Christine Feehan's Carpathian novels.)
What really made this book disappointing to me it that the character "Chris" did not feel like a guy to me. I had heard other reviewer refer to characters as "women in drag", but this was the first character that really came across like that. I really tried to remove that impression, but it was continually reinforced. The vampire even asks to call him Christopher instead of Chris.(Wonder Why???)
Maybe I've become cynical. Read it and see. I just couldn't believe in the Characters.

Igual de sin sentido como los otros. Cazadores de vampiro de pacotilla, origenes del vampiro sin ningun motivo, backstories sin importancia. De hecho, lo mas curioso de la historia es la antigua relacion de Mark y Cristopher, pero creo que aunque hubiera sido relatada con profundidad, al tener este metodo de escritura tan flojo no me gustaria igualmente.

Without trying to make too many comparisons between all of the My Vampire and I books, I'll just say that the first book, My Vampire and I and the last book Bound in Blood (this book) are my favorites. Both have strong, clear, and finely written stories. If you like vampire stories, and specifically hot vampire stories, then you will like the My Vampire and I books.
