About the author

Liesbet Slegers (1975, Belgium) studied Graphics and Illustrations at the Saint-Lucas institute of Antwerp. She works as a fulltime graphic designer and illustrator. With her simple, recognizable style and vivid colours she knows how to attract the attention of every toddler. In her many books, Slegers frequently focuses on the first experience of a toddler," a time she characterized as "exciting but also very scary! I try to help them with my books," she added, "and also try to give the parents or teacher some assistance!"

Dit is een leuk boek voor peuters. Het boek schetst hoe de situatie van 'voor het eerst naar school gaan' in de meeste gevallen ook gaat. De illustraties zijn duidelijk en passen bij de tekst. De kinderen kunnen door naar de illustraties te kijken zien wat er gebeurd. Het boek is duidelijk en niet te lang voor peuters. Ik vind het mooi dat Liesbet Slegers de werkelijkheid zo goed in woorden heeft kunnen vatten. Door dit boek te lezen kunnen de kinderen voorbereid worden op het 'voor het eerst naar school gaan'. Ik zou dit boek aanraden aan alle ouders met peuters thuis!

Kevin goes the school nos cuenta el proceso de Kevin al ingresar a la etapa escolar, sus sensaciones y como poco a poco va acostumbrándose a su nueva rutina. Muy lindo cuento para los pequeños que comienzan su faceta en preescolar.

Lamentablemente en algunas editoriales no se respetó el nombre del protagonista, pueden encontrar este cuento en Facebook con el título "Nacho va a la escuela" por la editorial EDELVIVES.

Tea did picture walk and was interested in why boy was crying. Average book on anxiety before the first day of school but Tea didn't fall in love with characters or story.

A simple story about the highs and lows of the first day at school.
Includes bold, bright, lovable illustrations and instructions for making a paper hat.
This would be a good book to keep around in a preschool or kindergarten classroom.

Appropriate story for toddlers starting preschool... it is easy to relate to the adjustments your child will go through when starting a program without mama or dada by their side... this book shows your child how much fun school can be! :)

Great colorful illustrations.
At first Kevin doesn't want his mom to leave him on his first day of school, but soon he begins to enjoy himself.
