SAT Book The Call of the Wild was a pretty good book in my opinion. I have already read this book a long time ago and liked it a lot. It showed how Buck and his team overcame the struggles of being a sled dog in the Yukon. I liked how the author had the point of view through Buck. I would recommend this book to most people.
This is such a great story. I've read it multiple times. It's brutal, sad, and maybe somehow uplifting. I love how the ending of the book isn't a true happy ending, at least in the Hollywood sense. It could have ended on John Thornton so it could have a joyful ending for the whole family, but instead the triumphant ending of this book isn't one that makes you smile, but one that suits the main theme of this book.
The main character is a dog named Buck, and he has as much of an arc as any other human progatonist in other books. Every change within himself feels natural and earned. And he's not always a "good" dog, there's nuance and purpose. I don't want to spoil anything, man.
I also love how Jack London isn't afraid to punch you in stomach. Like, there are deaths and dog abuse in this. It's crazy. If you want an easy dog book to read, don't read The Call of the Wild. Jack London wrote a dog called White Fang which is basically the opposite of this book, so read that instead. White Fang's great, but this classic hits me more on the emorional level. I highly recommend it.
(This time around, I read an abridged version, because I didn't want to take forever to read it. But read the unbridged version, it's not long.)
I like this book because it had a good story line. I also like it because they describe the scene and scenery really well. It's kind of sad because they beat the dog and starve them. I don't like this book because he lost his whole team because people who don't understand the rule. This why I like and dislike this book.
this book is different from other books, it tell the reader about a dogs hard life and how the dogs life keeps changing and the love in him is fading away with every owner he has and every dog he has to deal with and all the miss treatment.. and what he learn about humans way even he knew someone the he loved and did everything for, his name was buck,
the genre of this book is adventure, because buck travels a lot, pulling sled.. or going to a new owner!!! the setting changes a lot but his traveling is in Yukon. the sled team travels and stops but they go to city to city! Bucks life was felled with happiness and then hate.. buck never gave up on his dream. buck was beaten almost with every owner he had, with all that abuse his heart felled with more hatred!! if you read this book and you love animals you will have some people in the book.. I hate every man in the story but not one man.. this book reminds me of with fangs in some ways.
This book is writing about the dogs past and how his future changed by hating humans... the author wrote a great and sad story...interesting how she wrote the story and how she put in details about the settings and how it looks!!!
WARNING: A very small spoiler may be in my review, it's one of the last sentences. So just be aware!
The novel The call of the wild by Kathryn R. Knight is about a dog who gets kidnapped by some people and force him to do some stuff. Throughout the book you might, just maybe feel like you apart of the book. Feeling bad for all of these dogs getting forced to do something they weren't meant to do. My grandpa recommended this book to me, because in the past. I loved reading, and I loved dogs. And he said this book would get my attention, it very well did. Back to the book, dogs getting forced, whipped. It's about time a hero came in and saved Buck (the dog) he forced the other person by telling him he would kill him if he came by the dog or even tried to whip Buck again. In conclusion, this book was actually better than I thought it would be, and something I learned from this book that I could possibly put into my daily lives is to, push myself it might be painful but it will get you somewhere.
I thought that the Call Of The Wild was a really good book because I could follow along with the book, wasn't to hard or too easy to read, and I thought the writer did a good job with the story. know i'm going to tell you about the three reasons I gave you. My first reason is I could follow along with what I was reading. sometimes I could picture the story in my head on the parts that the writer gave a lot of detail. My second reason is it wasn't a book that was too hard or too easy to read, I felt like the book was just the right level for me. My third reason is, I thought the writer did a good job with writing the story for example I could find the point to the story, its not like some book just about some kids life. Those are my three reasons why I liked this book. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes animal books. I rate this book four stars and I hope you read the book.
"Call of the Wild" is an extraordinary classic and the story was beautifully written. One thing I loved about this book was that it focused on one main character, giving the reader the ability to give undivided attention to that character, Buck. Something that believe could've been better about it, would be the speed of climax, because, at times, the chapters were somewhat a struggle to get through. If you are looking for a book to read by a cozy fire, this is the one, it is also for dog lovers!
The Call of the Wild is a story of a dog, Buck, who is kidnapped from his home in California and is sold into a harsh world of dog traders. He is shipped into the work in Canada of dog sled where he is amazed by the cruelty. Buck becomes attached to one of his masters but feels as if he is being called into the wild. Buck starts to venture out into the wild, until one day he finds his master was attacked. Buck ends up leaving to live in the wild and becomes a leader of a wolf pack.
This book is a really good classic. I love how he turns from a lazy dog into a wolf. This is a really good book. I would recommend this to a person who won't get to weepy at the times were the dogs get starved. This a pretty good book for a 4th or 5th grader, in my opinion.

The Call of the Wild was interesting and fun, and also filled me with a want to read more. The adaptation caught the plot but added many pictures, also helping. This was a great book.
