This book was most likely written too quickly and with some information may now be rather disproven - like the actuality that Hemingway was being monitored by the FBI. His paranoia was very real and it helped drive him to a dark place.
There are some great stories and quotes within the book and it reads very well. The writers seemed very close to the subject, hinging slightly on "hero worship" - an idea they mention in the book. This was a book that was very much written in haste, which is most likely why there was never a reprint - at least not to my knowledge - and why it is a book that many do not know exist.
For entertaining purposes and a quick read on a very interesting subject, I would suggest it. Is it gold? By no means.
