When I saw the cover of this book, I thought it would be a good read about the different ways fall and harvest were celebrated around the world. What I wasn't expecting was there to be only a paragraph or two on each festival with projects filling up the rest of the pages. I still think that this book could be used in a classroom, as there were many fun activities, with one for each festival, but I think that you would have to supplement the book and add some more information about the festival for students to really understand.
It took us a long time to read this book. There is so much information, crafts, recipes and ideas for celebrating the harvest. It offers a quick look at many different cultures and the times of the year and ways in which they celebrate their harvest festival. It's a good book, especially in small doses. Otherwise our girls lose interest.
