aNobii dà il titolo in giapponese, ma in realtà il libro è in inglese. Si tratta di un dizionarietto di linguaggio colloquiale e slang.
Buona l'intenzione editoriale, molto buona la fattura, ma il libro ha due problemi, nemmeno piccoli:
1) Come detto, è in inglese, e quindi prima di riuscire a imparare lo slang nipponico converrebbe conoscere molto bene quello inglese, con cui il primo è quasi sempre reso...
2) Il secondo problema è di natura esterna al libro, ed è l'obsolescenza. Slang e colloquialismi hanno spesso vita breve: quelli correnti muoiono presto e nuove frotte giungono a rimpolpare le fila; in una lingua così permeabile come quella nipponica, poi, il fenomeno è ancor più ipertrofico. Quindi in questo libretto molte espressioni attuali non ci sono, mentre molte che ci sono non si usano ormai più.

Molto utili invece le notazioni etimologiche, che permettono di sapere, anche solo a titolo di curiosità, da dove derivano certi strani vocaboli.

I've got to keep up with my high school students' slang here in Japan... it's pretty helpful but hard to remember "in the field" so to speak.

Lots of slang, some of which is not really used now but very amusing. My Japanese friends had a good laugh over some of it (and some learned a few new terms)
