It is hard to write a review about a joke book because you can't really talk about the main characters, The setting, or the plot of the story. What I can say in reviewing this book is I had a good time reading a few pages at a time over several days enjoying a laugh, a chuckle, a groan, or wtf. There are some groaners in this book for sure, but one man's groaner is another's laugh riot. If you are looking for dirty jokes this is not for you. If you want jokes that you can tell to kids and adults that won't embarrass you or your audience then check this one out.
This is an older collection (1990) so some of the jokes are dated. And while some are truly funny, many are just groaners. They are mostly very short (a couple lines). We have heard or read versions of quite a few of them previously. Part of the exercise was to see if we could guess the punch line, which happened quite a bit – this added to the fun. Some sections were better than others. We particularly liked the Bonus One Liners and Not Found in Webster and didn’t particularly like the Knock Knock jokes. Overall, it was fun, though not as good as some of the other joke books we’ve read.
