Rich, powerful Gabriel Brabanti is not a man to be disobeyed...or betrayed. Though he wants Eve's body, he no longer wants her, because he believes she's deceived him -- for money.

In the past, Catherine Spencer has been an English teacher which was the springboard for her writing career. Heathcliff, Rochester, Romeo and Rhett were all responsible for her love of brooding heroes! Catherine has had the lucky honour of being a Romance Writers of America RITA finalist and has been a guest speaker at both international and local conferences and was the only Canadian chosen to appear on the television special, Harlequin goes Prime Time.
If you love an emotional "not afraid to say I Love You" story with love and children, this is great. Only a few mean moments, but the remaining was excellent.
Hero met heroine when she came down to deliver her cousins baby for a vacation. The baby turned out not to be the heroes but he fell in love with the heroine making a baby with her. When he learns the heroines cousins baby was not his, he kicks them all out including the heroine. The heroine returns telling him she's pregnant and she loves him, then viola, happily ever after.

For a nurse who supposed handled many babies in her life, the h couldn't guess the difference between a newborn and a 4 months old? Considering the ex-wife was supposed to have been a conniving liar who had affairs H doesn't ask for a DNA test? h mentions she is like twins as she shares the bday with her cousin/H's ex, she doesn't even know how her cousin behaves! Too many plot holes in this book, so definitely give it a miss. Oh and yes as is typical, the last few chapters is about the h being pregnant.

Right from the beginning this story was strange. The hero having been recently divorcd from the h s cousin and her bringing the baby to meet him. Not a romantic premise. Then the h was not very likable. The story went on and on about her being so wonderful and unlike her cousin but she was cold and disagreeable I had trouble finishing this book bc it just left me cold.
I don't honestly know what to say just that I pray I never have a Marcia character in my life. I mean she is purely evil I even think it's a sickness I mean who does that even her baby wasn't enough to cure her. The book was a good one
3.5 stars standard HP fare A little too much time spent on the H's ex-wife who is cousin to the h. The post-mortem on what went wrong in their marriage was not interesting. She was a bad person. We get it.
This was easily one of the best HP's I've ever read. Okay, at least it was one of the most engaging ones. I like the HP's in general, but not think much about them.
So if I like it so much, why only 3 stars? Because...OMG. 14 pages before the end, there's a conversation about ultra sounds. The villain dangles the fact that she knew she was carrying a girl a whole two months before she gave birth. The father looks skeptical and looks to the heroine, as if "is that really possible". The heroine, a FREAKIN' USA NURSE!, said, and I am directly quoting, ""It's sometimes possible, Gabriel" she confirmed, "especially with today's sophisticated technology."
It's the "SOMETIMES" in that statement that got me (okay, the whole conversation erked me). Unless you specifically ask NOT to know, at least in the US, u/s are routinely performed, full-blown anatomy scans, between 18 & 22 weeks. A HECK of a lot more than just 2 months before birth! And only 'sometimes' is it possible to find out the sex? It's a lot less likely NOT to be able to tell. AND THE NURSE!!!!!!!!!! was the one who said it! The nurse who works in a downtrodden clinic and sees babies all day long!
Okay, rant over.
Beyond that idiocy, this was actually a surprisingly fabulous book. Strong characters and all.
