I absolutely loved this book. It's an awesome approach to judging others. The idioms are comical to adults. Some older children would understand them. However, my 5 year old did understand that people can judge others the same way the books did, but we should give others the opportunity to share their stories because we're all just people under all our covers. This book can spark multi-layered conversation with children.

When two new books, Paige (a romance novel) and Mark (a history book) come into the library, they discover the other books only care about their covers ... they don't want to know what's inside. "We don't rub covers with just any books the librarian puts us next to." But when all the covers get ripped off of the books during the battle, "The book couldn't tell whom to talk to or whom to avoid."

This book works on several levels. A definite addition to my school library.

What an interesting way to discuss the subject of judging others by their outward appearance only, and what happens when this stops and others see the inside of you.

This book had such great potential. The concept seemed really fun and funny. But in fact it was bland. I am a librarian and shelving books is not my favorite thing to do and just the though of books at night getting off the shelves reading each other and making am mess makes me tired and frustrated!

I really wanted to like this one!

Sad Face!
