So, so, so, so sad. I had tears in my eyes reading about Pepper who found the man of her dreams only to find out that he was dying. Throughout the book we find out how Pepper and Gabe manage to pull themselves through this tragedy.

Insisting that they get married, Gabe treats her to a beautiful wedding only to be surprised himself when an unexpected child shows up! Having to plan a wedding, then a funeral and cope with motherhood....you wonder what will happen next.....yes, there is another surprise.

But you will have to read to book to find out the situation Pepper finds herself in next. Lovely story.

I loved this story from Ms. J Thomas Like. I, unlike some of her other readers, have not read Widow and the Rock Star but did thoroughly enjoy Widow and the Will.

I was slightly concerned I wouldn't be able to follow the story since it is a follow up to the author's freshman novel but I was pleasantly surprised that it flowed perfectly and I never got lost.

My heart goes out to the characters for the duress they endured during this Widow tale. J Thomas Like is a master at describing the process of grief and the turmoil that one goes through when thrust into such a situation.

Well done!

WOW !!!

What a novel that was so well written. This book took you through so many emotions from laughter to tears!

Gabriel was the perfect husband who discovered he was dying of pancreatic cancer. A son he never knew aboutshows up and his wife, Pepper learns to love him. They have to face his death together.

Pepper learns she is pregnant three months after Gabriel's death.

I could not put this book down. I cried for both Gavin and Pepper losing Gabriel. Get this book, you will not regret it.

This was such a heart wrenching book. It's so well written and so sad and it pulls at your heart strings but there's so much love and support between the characters that it warms your heart at the same time.

Just wow!!!
If you’re looking for a tearjerker read this is for you.
Honestly it was a rollercoaster read.
It had me silently crying multiple times, had a lump in my throat more than once.
Gave was in beautiful gentleman inside and out.
In his fifties he’d found love with Poppy in her early forties they had it all, love success money but it changed in an instant which a cancer diagnosis.
My heart broke for Gabe multiple times.
Newly engaged yet they wouldn’t get the life they dreamt together
On their wedding day he was handed an eight yr old son he didn’t know about and would only get near months to get to know him.
Then he died leaving his family grieving.
I loved that Poppy forums out she was pregnant with Gabes baby months after he died I loved that his son now called Poppy mom
I didn’t like the ending with her at six months pregnant I felt it was underwhelming for such an emotional read. For me I’d have liked her to have had the baby way it a boy or girl what would they name it and would it give her the emotional connection to Gabe.
( would have been an easy 5 star other than th ending )

Living and surviving!

Thanks for showing the struggle of a spouse who's partner is diagnosed with a terminal illness & also the point of view of the patient fighting for his life.
I also love the supporting characters.
Thank you for taking the time to pen these stunning stories.

Good story, interesting characters!

I think the storyline is very intriguing & a book u can hardly put down. I have it a 2 bec of the swearing & 4 letter words on every page. Very disturbing & distracting. All your readers want is good writing.

Summary

I really enjoyed this book because it was a real life story. The story line was such that it could happen to you, me, your neighbor. I was actually sorry when the book ended.

Pepper finally found the man of her dreams in Gabriel Seigal, but when he's diagnosed with a crippling illness, their future comes apart at the seams. I read the Widow and the Will and enjoyed it just as much.
