I was lucky enough to win this one from Goodreads, which is great because I was actually really very excited for this one. I got the book sooner than anticipated and was very surprised it fit in my mailbox as the books I've won or ordered are usually larger and are delivered to my door or left with the front office. The tiny square red book with a pin up on the front was not exactly what I expected. I opened the little book to find a small note from the author and then a bunch of quotes and little epithets about the quoted. Nothing fancy. The little illustrations between "Chapters" or the loose categories based on the speaker or the content were sometimes neat and other times creepy. I wish there had been a little more than one line (or even less) on the wonderful women who were quoted in the book. I did enjoy it, though I feel like it was missing something. Take a look though. Books like this always make for a good bathroom read. :)

This is a small format book (5 1/2" by 5 1/2") that is perfect for sticking in a purse or a tote bag, so you can read it on the go. If you're having a bad day, this is definitely the book to read to cheer yourself up. I plan to send my copy to a cousin to cheer her up. I really recommend this book. Enjoy!

The authors range from movie stars to authors, Prime Ministers to gossip columnists, and every saying either offers a deep thought, a self-revealing insight, or a comic line both short and snappy.
Like most collections of this sort, WILD WORDS isn’t going to change the world but it will offer a measure of relief from it.
