This gets top rating because not one but two boys loved this book dearly. When they're younger, I pointed out in English all of the objects on the pages. Both of them sat much longer for this book than they would for any other book at that age. As they got older, I would ask them to point to the objects that I named and they did excitedly. Still later in their maturity, they would point to items and name them off themselves as their language improved.

We've spent lots and lots of time with this book with both boys. I'm anticipating even more use once they start taking Spanish in school, too. Other than Pat the Bunny and Goodnight Moon, this has been their personal classic at our house and a special book to me.

The illustrations are seriously out of date. My boys couldn’t identify a lot of the pictures because they’d never seen such a thing before! Not helpful!

I like the bold photographs that are used in this book. I think for kids to really learn the words they would also need to hear them in context of everyday life, but it is still nice as a grown up to get a review.

I like this book at 18 months to 2. I have learned many of the words in English and some in Spanish too.
