Cute! Shorter than the movie plot. This book skips the sing-off between the Chipmunks & Chipettes that Alvin missed because of the football game, & it also leaves out the part where Ian put the Chipettes in a cage & Alvin came to rescue them. It also leaves out that the singing contest where the Chipmunks & Chipettes joined forces was an area-wide event to give their school $25K to save the music program. It also left out the funny interactions where the Chipmunks actually met the Chipettes & you could sense the romantic attraction mixed in with the rivalry. Wow! I could go on, but my review is getting longer than the actual book!
