Q and A with the Author

Q: What inspired you to write the Raptor Apocalypse series?

SY: I was a big fan of Michael Crichton back in the 90s. I’ve read everything he has written, and when Stephen Spielberg released Jurassic Park, well, that’s when the original idea struck me. I always wanted to know what would happen if those velociraptors first seen on Isla Nublar ever got loose on the U.S. Mainland. But it wasn’t entirely that—I am also a huge fan of the Max Mad movie franchise, and along with films such as Omega Man, I am Legend, and the TV show Walking Dead, I figured the genres needed to be combined in some way. Hence, Raptor Apocalypse.

Q: Will there be any more books in the series?

SY: I hope I was able to answer most of the questions related to how the raptors were first created, and how they could be destroyed. I did leave some wiggle room for future stories, but there are many other series I wish to write and so little time to do so. I hope to one day revisit the world and see what else can be added to it.

Q: Would you be open to fan-fiction written about the world you have created?

SY: I’m very open to that. In fact, I’ve heard from others already who have expressed an interest in doing so.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

SY: I have another couple of series lined up, mostly fantasy related, but I have one more excellent idea I’m sitting on for a new post-apocalypse tale that I one day hope to write.

Okay ending

I dont know why but.. after reading a different series and coming back to this one.. it just wasn’t as cool as it used to be. The ending was different, a lot of real world metaphors. Not as adventurous and gory as the beginning.. but it all wrapped up in a nice package.

Good finish

I thought this third and final book o in the series had a satisfying ending. I was afraid I wouldn't like the ending after all the work out into reading the books. But I'm happy with it and am glad I read the series. I would recommend it.

Righteous

The end of the series. Not too bad or good. Still have to contend with those pesky chicken nuggets. Most of the questions answered. Series worth the read.
