I have the older version, from 1982. It's a solid beginning book with ideas on how to landscape your garden and variety selection. You may have to search for seeds outside of your local nursery for many of these as some are not widely carried, hence the charm.

Ortho's All About Ground Covers (Ortho's All About Gardening) by Katie LaMar Smith (Ortho Information Services 1978)(635.9). This is the Ortho guide to this segment of the plant family. I have referred to this book many times. My rating: 7/10, finished 1982.

There is good information in this book, but the layout is a bit busy. (6/2/14)
Half of the book is an alphabetical list of ground covers and information about how to grow them. (4/26/15)
