Kaffe's Classics

Rate this book
Kaffe's Classics is a collection of 24 sweaters and one afghan, all fun to knit in the author's trademark vibrant colors and rich patterns. The sweater shapes are basic without being boring, and unlikely to go out of fashion. Aimed at intermediate and advanced knitters, the book encourages readers to use their own variations on the designs.

This really IS a classic, and I'm so lucky to have found a used copy. The Foolish Virgins cardigan design is my favorite in this book; it looks like a tapestry from medieval Scandinavia.

ICON is a pullover sweater full of chockablock crosses, just straight up-and-down, 90-degree angle crosses next to each other. In different colors, of course! It is reminiscent of his "Crosspatch" vest in another book (another favorite design of mine).

BROCADE is lovely (and very popular); so is Spanish Combs. HOUSES is quirky but that's classic Kaffe.

The most beautiful, difficult knitting designs you'll ever find on Earth. Gorgeous enough to admire while admitting you'll never attempt to make one of the pieces.
