I have been pining for this book for years and finally have my very own (thanks, husband)! When it comes to movie art books, I generally like a little more text than this book has--which is virtually none beyond a foreword and afterword. This book also features less concept art and design work and has more finished art depicting moments from the films. It seems like a bit of a shame to not detail more of the creative process, but even so, what the book DOES have is really fun to look at. Definitely worth the wait.

I wish more fantastical movies had art books like this one. I chose it as a birthday present years ago, before the 4th installment was even rumored. The book is large, so large that I have to place it sideways on my bookshelf. But that's no problem, because spread throughout the book are full page illustrations in all their glorious detail. There's everything from fashion sketches to 3d renderings and more. One of my favorite art books I own.

A really really big book filled with the creative process of how the greatest trilogy of pirates was produced. This is an excellent book for any Pirates of The Caribbean fan and any artist who likes to collect art books, it includes concept art, illustrations, sketches and storyboards. I will cherish this book until my last breath

This book will always have a special place in my heart. It reminds me of my love of my favourite movie trilogy. It was the first gift I ever received from my first boyfriend. The art within is so gorgeous, I find myself stuck at staring at sunken ships, treasure chests, and character sketches for a long time. Love this. It'll be a coffee table book one day.

I don't know if I should really count this as I didn't read any of the captions under the photos, but it is mostly pictures and concept art type things. Pretty, but nothing hardcore amazing. And I'm a huge POTC fan.

I just think the conceptual art done for these movies is stunning. This book gave me a new appreciation for the creativity of the artists and designers responsible for bringing the world of Jack Sparrow and Company to life. Also, it was really interesting for me to see how things evolved. One of my favorite examples is the original artist's rendering of Johnny Depp as a pirate compared with the final costume and characterization he came up with.
