Spiders and Spinsters is an amazing volume containing hundreds of roughly stitched together bits and pieces of mythology concerning the female gender throughout mythology, ritual, storytelling, and other symbolic expression. The subject matter comprises lunar symbolism, fertility, matriarchies, ancient menustral cycle myths and much more.
There are so many imaginative gems of all kinds in this book I take it with me whenever I write.
