Personal Glimpses of the Prophet Joseph Smith

by Hyrum L. Andrus, Helen Mae Andrus

Hyrum L. and Helen Mae Andrus's Personal Glimpses of the Prophet Joseph Smith continues the tradition of their first collection of Joseph Smith stories-They Knew the Prophet- adding more than a hundred additional statements, impressions, and teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Many of the experiences used are selective segments from larger life histories, letters, or memoirs. Some statements are combined from the writings of a given individual, some are from more than one source. Above all, these records reflect the lasting impressions that Joseph Smith made on those who knew him and loved him as a friend, colleague, and Prophet of the Most High. Includes stirring accounts from Lucy Mack Smith, Joseph Knight Sr., Emma Smith, Martin Harris, Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer, Orson Pratt, Lorenzo Snow, Parley P. Pratt, Brigham Young, Joseph Young, and more.

Compelling eye witness testimonies of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Each of the 100 individual accounts are journal entries or letters and include the documented source of each testimony referenced. The book includes no editorial comments by the author; just the actual words of each individual sited. Truly inspiring!

Note: This apparently follows an earlier book, They Knew the Prophet, which also shared testimonies of the Prophet.

A very good compilation of about a hundred testimonies and memories of Joseph Smith. There is a lot of very insightful information that helps one visualize who Joseph Smith truly was.

Good book. Lots of quotes and stories that I had heard before but did not know of the sources.
