Another find from my husband's father's library that I'm using for book research. Old but fascinating survey of Indian cultures and technology from North, Central, and South America. Dated, but respectful, in a old-fashioned, western-centric amazement: "Look at how impressive these people were/are!" I've had trouble putting it down.

A concise description of North American indigenous culture and practice. The light-bulb that went off when reading was that Native culture, in it's time, wasn't much different from European culture. The native economy was very different, but all of the basic elements of life were there, which form a core of every world culture
