Audiobook Review: 4,5 Stars
Performance: 4 Stars - Story: 4,5 Stars
This is my first book from Catherine Mann and first audiobook narrated by Harry Berkeley and I liked them so much, the story and the performance. Bossman’s Baby Scandal is a love story full of sexy moments, a badass heroine, a sexy and determined hero and one awesome HEA.
Jason and Lauren had a one night stand that ended up being a life changing event. Four months later Lauren tells Jason she’s pregnant with his baby, and since Jason is closing an important deal, he can’t let a scandal happen with this matter, so he proposed to her and offered to help her business that is in financial trouble at the moment. What looked to be a convenient and arranged engagement, and later a marriage, ended up being something much more meaningful. Sometimes two soul mates only need a little push to accept their feelings, leave the pride behind and finally be together. For Jason and Lauren, it was their baby, but it was really awesome to listen how their feelings grew and what started out of lust ended up being a beautiful love story.
Harry Berkeley did a good narration. At the beginning I wasn’t so sure about his voice. He sounded slow and the age of his voice didn’t match the age of Jason, or at least what I imagined how old he was, but after an hour of listening I got used to him and liked him so much. His inflexions for Lauren and secondary characters were great, and despite the story has dual POV, I didn’t miss a female voice for Lauren’s chapters.

All in all, Bossman’s Baby Scandal audiobook was great, romantic, sexy, with the perfect amount of drama to keep me fully interested. I’m 100% sure the audio made my experience better than if I’d have read only the book.

*Read this book ages ago (decided to add all the books that I remember reading and established 2017 as the year to add all those reads).*
This was one of those books that I read, and then a while later I remembered this specific scene and went crazy trying to find it and read again. The scene in this one is she running away pregnant, after thinking he doesn't mean business, and then him coming to her door to get her, after investigating with everyone where she could be.
I remember loving this book so much, even tho it's a romance that is totally predictable.

Can’t believe I read this. I bought it as a joke in high school and then came across it when cleaning out my garage so I thought I should read it before I donated it. It’s not the worst thing I have ever read in my life, but the plot is as tenuous as a typical Hallmark movie. The main characters don’t need a baby, they need therapy.

Jason and Lauren's story was well thought out. The author understood pacing in the story to bring a believable element to the story. I would like to get the Maddox brothers story.

Just a bit blah. No real unique story line in this book. Two intelligent people into their careers yet unable to communicate with each other until the end. I fell upon this story because Maya Banks contributed to one of the books in the series and I love all her work. This book just didn't do it for me; so I decided to look into other Catherine books up. It is rare for her books to get a score over a 4 average so I'll probably won't search out another book by her.

I didn't like these two together at all. I felt they brought out the worst in each other. I felt the story was a little all over the place. Luckily I listened to it on audio otherwise I would probably have DNRd this book. Overall this just wasn't my favorite read. The ending did get better.

Jason and Lauren met in NYC while working together. Jason is relocated to California and 4months later finds out he's to become a father. Story progresses from there when Lauren goes to California to help Jason

Only okay. The characters were likeable, but basically you come in at the end of their story. The story that you would usually read (their meeting, the building chemistry and even them coming together) has already happened when the book begins. You feel like you've missed out and never really havea chance to connect with the characters.

While the writing was good, and the characters were developed. The story had potential. It was based on a good idea. I didn't connect with the story or the characters. Basically, I just didn't care what kind of ending became of it--good, bad, horrific, comically tragic? I just wanted to finish the book and get done with it.

Jason and Lauren. Kinda boring and slow. Lauren is a wet blanket. How his boss 'figures out' that they were lying about their engagement made no sense.
