This book shows Moriah's disabilities, while still showing that she is just like everyone else. The book does an excellent job of showing compassion and acceptance for others who may be different from us. It also shows how a simple "hiya" can make a difference in someone's day.

Moriah is a medically complex young girl who is here to say hi! Her story explains what it’s like to require medical equipment throughout daily life. Her whole story centers around the idea that when you see someone with special needs you should just say hi. Just be friendly and treat them with respect. Everyone is different, and some people have different health needs like Moriah. There is a glossary explaining types of medical equipment in the back that is very educational. The illustrations are fun and playful, which I think makes this book approachable for all children.

I gave this book 5 stars because it manages to be both fun and educational. Moriah is a fun kid who just wants people to say hiya. Like any kid she wants friends and respect from strangers. This is an important book for children to learn about medically complex kids, especially if they don’t have direct experience with people who live with medical conditions.

The beautiful illustrations and rhyming words make this book easy to read. Moriah who has special needs and she shows love and acceptance. This book shows that everyone has different abilities and that some one can do something that you may not.Moriah says hi to everybody and it shows that showing kindness to people with disabilities is not that hard they are just like everybody on the inside. Showing kindness and saying hi can make someone's day and Moriah is very inspiring in that way. The theme includes respect and kindness to show everyone. This story shows the day in the life of Moriah and all the meds she has to take and it gives a insight in their life. This book includes a glossary of medical terms and I really like that.

It's cute and does a good job of showing that Moriah is just like most kids in a lot of ways even with her disabilities. It really does veer into "inspiration porn" territory though, as people like myself in the disabled community call it. Moriah is lauded as being such an inspiration and being "determined to live life to the fullest despite her special needs," as the author bio says. Blech. "Disabled" and "disability" aren't dirty words. "Special needs" is another phrase that should be on the way out. Moriah has needs. She has a disability. I worry her mom infantilizes her because of her short stature and how she's described as "a tiny ballerina" in the text.

This is a story about a young girl named Moriah who navigates life with a unique set of challenges. The book is a celebration of resilience, courage, and human spirit. The text is both tender and powerful, capturing the essence of Moriah's journey in a way that is related to children. The illustrations are vibrant and emotive, adding depth to the narrative. The book teaches children about empathy and acceptance. I recommend this book for children ages 4 to 8 years old.

Great book, highlights that everyone is different but simply saying hi to someone can make their day better and make them feel welcome. Amazing illustrations with lots of details including labeling all of the different equipment that Moriah needs to stay alive and happy.

Amazing book that helps children understanding others with differing abilities. What I love about this book in particular is that Nelson does not shy away from using specific medical terms, which are often omitted in children's books.

As someone with CHARGE Syndrome myself, I personally enjoyed this book. Back in my childhood there weren't a lot of books like this out there, so it's awesome to see that changing!
