The Demon…

Make Me Burn Book 4 starts off right where book 3 ended. We thought that the Demon was in her room but he’s still locked away but for how long? When will the Demon put his plans into action? Well we see that happen in this book. Somehow the Demon escapes prison and is on the hunt for new prey but first he’s got to teach his daughter a lesson.
Aurora and her guys have to struggle with getting answers. Someone’s playing games and trying to pick them off one by one.
Cain, Stellan, Remington and Paxton are doing everything they can to keep her safe. Paxton is dealing with his emotional trauma over his mothers death and someone is trying to help him learn the truth by sending him videos.
Each hurtle they jump seems like two more get placed in front of them.
Lots of steamy bits in this one and of course a bloody cliffhanger!

Make Me Burn, the fourth book in the Rich Demons of Darkwood series by C.R. Jane and May Dawson was everything I hoped it’s be and more! And what that was, was truly a delicious emotional roller coaster of a ride that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew and more!!!

Picking up from right where the third book left us, with that shocking appearance of the deadly and despised Demon suddenly making an appearance in her room, this book starts running and never stops! Once again we find that someone on the horizon is threatening their attempt at safety and isn’t afraid to go after them one by one, this time starting with Paxton in particular—dredging up the past with videos and leaving emotional chaos due to his mothers death in its wake.

However Aurora and her crazy psychotic men aren’t as easy prey as they seem to think which takes you on quite the emotional journey with this group! They’re all still wanting answers, and aren’t afraid to find them using whatever tactics they have available to them. Yet things always have a way of getting worse, and this story is no exception and soon they once again find themselves in a fight of their lives.

I absolutely love these volatile, slightly psychotic characters that Jane and Dawson have created and how well they all just seem to play off each other! Each of these men have found a way to weasel their way deep into my heart, but man oh man was Paxton’s story the doozy of all rides! When secrets are revealed, and discoveries are made, you can’t help but fall further into the clutches of the demons of darkwood and root for the demise of the Demon once and for all.

Overall if you’re a fan of dark, steamy, enemies to lovers, RH college romance with heroes and a heroine with psychotic bloody tendencies then this is the one for you! Especially if you’re a fan of deliciously tantalizing cliffhanger endings that leave you screaming for more! I can’t wait for the next book!!!

disappointed

From whole series, this was so far the worst book. Half way trough it I couldn’t wait until I just finish it faster, I just couldn’t take it anymore.
Aurora, from badass girl who belong to no one, people was vary of her, become this week girl who was doing everything for a dick. All of the guys constantly was reminding her that she belongs to them and they can do as they please with them and she will allow it, and of course she did as apparently she likes to be treated as lap pet, that’s turns her on.
I understand there was a lot of dominant kink in these series, but I think this books crossed the line. It didn’t seem dominant , it just started look very controlling of guys, and very pathetic of her, I wouldn’t been surprised if at
Some point in any chapter she would’ve started crawl on her knees and beg for them just to fuck her.
She turned into a girl with 0 self respect.
And extremely two faced, I can’t believe how much she judges Demon for what he did, torturing bad people like pedophiles and similar , but she’s completely fine with killing someone or when one of guys kills someone, even blow up whole club full of people without second thoughts, was close to celebrating it as well.
What makes them better that it’s okey for them to kill who they want, but they judge Demon ?
Whole book was huge disappointed in this series, I think authors went too far. And that comes from person who loves dark books with loads of kinks.
Just disappointing

Ups and Downs galore 🙈
This one starts of with a bang and you realise that Aurora does have that vulnerability to her despite being the tough cookie she has had to to survive 😖
This book centres around Paxtons story and it really tugs on those heart strings 😟 although he sure needs a kick up his 🍑 for how hot and cold he treats Aurora! And the others are not afraid to tell him or put Pax in his place 🙈 are show him exactly what he’s missing out on 🔥🔥🔥
When the fight of his life could offer him all he wants it soon turns sour when videos of his past drag up his trauma but also puts a whole new spin on what he thought he knew 😳 what’s more is questions begin to rise around all of their families and how they’re each involved 😬
Not only that but the Demon has Aurora in his sights, he’s on the hunt and there’s fears for who he’s actually going to go after!
You really see the guys come together Cain’s obsessive psychotic streak for his chosen family; Remingtons skills in keeping his family safe; Stellans determination to keep his family together; and Pax’s trauma driven need to protect - and Auroras development to caring for these boys and now knowing she’ll do anything for them 🥰
There’s some shocking revelations in this one building up for the finale 😯

I so love this series, Aurora is back with her 4 men, Stellan, Cain, Remington and Paxton. We get Paxton's back story in this book and what a story it is. Pax feels like he doesn't measure up to the other three so he is in the fight of his life to feel like he deserves to be a brother in this group, however when his past comes rearing back he takes his anger out on the one he loves most.

There is alot of push pull drama between Pax & Aurora with a lot of twists and turns. This was book 4 in this series and I cannot wait for the next book which is the last to see how it all ends for them all.

It started out so good. Then they threw in the stuff with pax’s mom which seems entirely unnecessary. And really didn’t go with the plot. It just gave the author an excuse to make a 5th book. And after 4 books in just tired of the FMC the ego where she keeps saying how dangerous she is and how she’s bigger and badder than the boys. And at the end when she gets kicked out. She gets mad at the demon. Which yeah but I would get pissed at the boys. They outed her cause they wanted to make her suffer. I just can’t stick with the series anymore. I feel like I’m going in a giant circle and the author is just trying to get as many books as she can out before having the final battle between aurora and the demon.

I will not be finishing. I lost interest I don’t care how it ends.

While I really enjoyed this book and the events that took place, I feel like I missed a major plot point between this book and the last. For one I don't recall Auroura being mad at Paxton, I figured after the last book things were fine and dandy. I mean despite the fact that Paxton was pretty m.i.a. in said book. Paxton is easily my favorite though so I'm not mad about all the extra attention he got here.

HOLY STEAMINESSS!!!!!!!!

This is by far the hottest book in the series so far and full of things I was NOT expecting!!!! It takes off right where book 3 ended and Aurora is confronted with none other than the Demon himself; Or so she thinks!

The guy's obsession and need to take care of Aurora is at an alll time high, even Paxton, whom this book is about. Cain, Stellan, Remy and Pax are all in love in their own way with her. Others have no issues with it, while Pax is struggling with not being good enough for her.

When the Demon is confronted, Aurora is determined to get answers - only - when he breaks out of jail while she is still there - it's like all of her nightmares are coming full forward. No one is safe. She fears for the safety of everyone she has come to love and care for. And then when the ending comes - The Demon has someone in his clutches that Aurora doesn't know how to feel about. Will she try to sacrifice herself? Will she be willing to make a bargain? Or will she finally go after The Demon aka Dear Old Dad, once and for all...

I absolutely loved this book! This series is so amazing, and I do not want it to end!!! The character growth from book 1 has been fantastic and while I hope The Demon gets a horrible ending, I also really want to see an epilogue of some sort with Aurora and her guys in the future! PLEASE! lol. This book is so full of twists and turns and now I can't help but wonder if Paxton's past is somehow connected to Auroras.

*Overall 5/5
*Heat 5/5
*Fast burn
*Multiple first person POV
*Ends on cliffhanger

Damn every book gets more intense the spice the plot then men EVERY FREAKIN THING… No doubt no freakin doubt i told my book besties this series has definitely took the number one spot for my dark heart for Dark college romance.

I was able to predict one specific thing though, but thats fine baby im just living in the moment. I was so sad for my baby Paxton. He was livid in this book and like the Queen Violet was she was ever so benevolent and forgiving I loved her from start to finish and that why she is gonna take the crown on the next book.

The spice in this book holy oh my gawd prepare to grab your nearest toy, partner or you can just use your trusty hand cause delicious men omg i want them all most of CAIN my king. I will kneel drop to the floor ok i will contain myself.

So far ahhhhhh that cliffhanger im just waiting for the next book which is a few days away 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Every book in this series gets better and better. And honestly Book 1: Make Me Lie was an outstanding read for me, I'm not sure how these authors top it every time. This series has developed a new favorite trope for me. I love the daughter of a serial killer romance read now!

For our mystery loving readers, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you've figured everything out....BOMB DROPS and you have no clue which way is up.

I don't think I'm able to even chose my favorite guy. They all stepped up in the book and solidified their relationship with Aurora and each other. I just knew book 4 was going to wreck me and Paxton's book was everything I wanted and needed but also nothing like I was expecting.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR MAKE ME QUEEN. AHH This series is everything! I always recommend it and I enjoy re-reading it. Definitely one of the best reads of this year for me.

One more book to go! Wow, these ending are some of the best I’ve read in books. It’s extremely rare for me to read a 5 book series and not start getting bored at around the 3 or 4 book. But even after 4 books I’m in no way bored! Each book keeps delivering more answers, deaths, suspense, betrayal, and a whole lot of extremely sexy and spicy scenes! I love Aurora and all her sass. She’s tough, strong, badass, and does not take shit from anyone. It’s incredibly sexy and I love watching her get territorial with her men! It’s hot when they all get all jealous and possessive with her, but watching her get that way is better! And I loved seeing how guys were totally uninterested whenever they were out and without Aurora and another woman would approach them. This series is definitely a must read.
Diving into book 5 now!

Book four of the Rich Demons of Darkwood starts exactly where book three ended. The Demon is in Aurora's room, but not everything is quite what it seems. This book focuses a lot on Paxton, and I was so glad for him to finally get his turn. It's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for all of the characters along the way and we end with one hell of a cliffhanger, ready for book five, and with Aurora's worst nightmare coming to life how will her and the guys deal with it?

This is a fast-burn story, with a lot of steam along the way. With enough twists and turns to leave you reeling. A great read and I can't wait for the next one!

Bloody hell this series is giving me whiplash with all of the plot twists and turns. Which kicked off right where book 3 left off. Aurora (FMC) is dealing with the repercussions of that and being the Demon's Daughter. Hes still causing problems from prison and it hits her closer to home. My only criticism was Pax and his attitude. I understand his point of view but he did my head in for the majority of this book.

Dark, violent and steamy as hell with a brilliant cliffhanger ending. Im looking forward to seeing where the next book will lead now. A great read

Wow.

This one gets darker if that is possible.

The shock factor is over but the darkness that this story has has really sucked the light out of things.

I also love that the Demon has gotten free and is doing things.

I really hope that Pax is done being an asshole now.
He was really making me mad with his hot and cold bullshit.
I hope he's finally gotten over his shit and realized that she isn't going anywhere and neither is he.

UGH! The Demon is definitely ruining her life, but I feel like she never actually blamed the guys for their part in ruining her fresh start. Stellan obviously regrets kidnapping her and has been making up for it. She was rightfully angry with him about that, but NONE of them had been held accountable for telling the whole world who she truly was.

Literally everyone knows what she looks like and who she is, the whole world HATES her, and the Demon was able to find her so quickly all because of them. I am more than sure the Demon would've found her eventually, don't get me wrong, BUT they ruined her life by telling the whole school / the whole world about her new identity which led to her being harassed and him finding her.
She can't go anywhere or do anything normal without having to deal with people's eyes and mouths judging and blaming her. The guys were NEVER held accountable for that shit and now that she's been kicked out of the college, I would've thought that would've came up like 'this wouldn't be happening if you wouldn't of told everyone who I was'.
They could've held her identity over her head - telling her they would tell everyone if she didn't listen to them. It was bad enough they just decided to attack her in the beginning because Stellan demanded it, but they also ruined her fresh start.

sorry I'm bitching too much. I just feel like the guys never truly realized how bad what they did was and how much it has affected her. I honestly don't think they will either. It seems like that's all been forgotten and now The Demon is the only one being blamed. She may have fallen in love with the guys, but they irrevocably ruined her life.

There was one thing that didn't make sense. Remi knew about her hacker friend, Nena. When she mentioned her friend he said it peaked his interest like he had no idea about it. I'm thinking it was meant as he wanted to know more about their relationship and stuff and not as in he didn't know about her at all. But the way it was written was like he was just finding out about her. Which later on in this scene he admits to talking to her, I just think that part just wasn't clearly expressed.

We don't get a full group scene, but we do get a bunch of 3somes. :D Love it too.
UGH talk about fucking hot and bothered.
I love the sexual energy between them. I really hope we get all together soon.

I am really enjoying this series.
Some times I get anxious when reading a series so I'll go and read the spoilers / comments under the next book. I did that with this series and what I read had me thinking I wasn't going to enjoy it. IDK if what I read in those reviews had been fixed in the books, but a lot of the stuff mentioned in the negative reviews aren't in the books or if they were, weren't so bad that I noticed it. These books have literally held me captive since book 1.
It is such a great series and I would definitely recommend you read it. If you are the type to read reviews before jumping in, I'd say give it a try before skipping it because of the reviews. I truly believe that the plot hole issues that had been mentioned aren't there or if they are, really aren't as bad as it was made out to be.

Aurora finally has the hearts of the men who had tormented her for months. The men who had been so dead set on making her life absolute hell until she left them in pieces, were now falling all over themselves to protect her. And the girl definitely needs protecting. Between the toxic classmates who want to bully her into leaving due to her father's murderous career, her father on the prowl once more, and a greater evil starting to harass one of her men with his traumatic past, she could use all the help she could get. Paxton was finally starting to come around to her and then the videos started showing up of his mother's murder. Paxton is willing to throw his entire future away in order to find and end the people who seemed to have pulled the strings behind his mother's murder. Perhaps the people involved were closer to him than he ever imagined. Can Aurora and her protective men protect each other from the forces that want to see them each bathed in blood?

It was refreshing to get a bit more substance behind Paxton. He was always my favorite because he didn't seem to want to hurt Aurora as much as the others. If anything he had a bit of a white knight personality where he hated to see women in pain. He couldn't stand to see Aurora suffer and that was what had initially bonded them together. I always had a fondness for him so seeing him push Aurora away when he started to spiral was painful for me to watch. I knew Aurora would not let him abandon her completely, she is made of stronger stuff than that, but I wanted to smack him around just as badly as the other guys wanted to.

It seems the authors are starting to devote different books to each of the guys so we get a deeper appreciation for the men overall. First with Remington with his father tormenting his siblings and sister, then Stellan with finding out what happened to his sister, and now Paxton and the true story behind his mother's death. I am anxious to see if the next book is about Cain a bit more because he definitely seems the biggest enigma of all.

I am starting to appreciate the books a lot more in this series than I had at first. I look forward to seeing what happens in the series finale!

BWBH Review:

The Demon’s eyes are set on Aurora. While she’s fighting for a man she loves, he’s fighting for her cleansing.

The Demon is not happy with Aurora’s new attachment to Cain, Pax, Remington, and Stellan and he intends to do something about it. Meanwhile, Aurora and her men are fighting on two fronts: The Demon and whoever mūrdered Pax’s mother.

In Make Me Burn, it was the little things that really stood out to me like Remington testing out different nicknames for Aurora since she wasn’t a fan of “little devil”.

On a heavier note, It was a struggle, but I liked how Pax and Aurora eventually leaned on one another for support while each of them was confronted by their pasts. In the end, they fought together to uncover the truth.

And as always I LOVED Aurora’s brand of unhinged. Since the first book, she’s really dug into her “monstrous” side to protect the ones she loves from the Demon.

Throughout the story, I was nervously trying to anticipate the Demon’s next moves. Does he kidnap her? Does he kill her men? Does he frame her for murder? C.R. and May kept me guessing.

Make Me Burn is perfect for readers who enjoy five psychopaths finding love for the first time, an FMC who is running away from her haunted past, and a familial bond built on friendship and mûrder.
