Book 4, and what an ending this book had to Nikolai and Justine's story. It was gritty and kept us hanging. I'm sure we dangled off a cliff many times while reading this book. I definitely look forward to reading more from the secondary characters when they release.

OMG couldn't put it down then didn't want it to end.
Again we have the love and lust between these two amazing characters.
On top of this we have more twists with blood and war you will never see coming. Makes you want to skip ahead to see but hold yourself back for a wild but incredible ride.....will this be the end for them or will the king and queen prevail???

The final book in Nikolai and Justine’s story and I think it was the wildest ride of them all this was action packed and I was constantly on the edge of my seat to see how their story would play out. This was typical Mafia plenty of blood, violence, suspense, sex and jaw dropping moments!
This series was so good and I’d definitely recommend it!

Well, Sweet Holy Titfire

I had no idea that I needed this book as much as I did. This conclusion was the epitome of perfection. The way that this author weaves a story is mindboggling. I am partially convinced she is a witch because she has me under her spell. This truly is one of the best mafia books that I have read. It is gritty, violent, and intense. The story doesn't sugarcoat this lifestyle. It shows the complexities of being born into and being a part of this criminal lifestyle that is hard to know who can be trusted. However, it shows the other side of this life as well. The extreme devotion, loyalty, and unwavering sacrifice that comes with it is nothing to be discounted.

Justine and Nikolia. Holy hell they have had a rough time together with multiple sabotage attempts against them finding happiness. Yet, even amidst the chaos, there is a sense of peace knowing how resolute they were in towards preserving their love and connection. This might be the most intense action-packed encounter they have had, which says something because the previous three books were no walk in the park eating ice-cream on a perfect summer day. My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest several times. If Justine wasn't one of my favorite characters before she sure is now.

And Nikolai...when people ask me why I have stayed single, my answer will be Nikolai. Until I find a man like him, with a whole lot of bad and just the right amount of good, then I am content. The inappropriate thoughts I had about him the first time I saw him are accurate.

One of the best of 2019 and definitely going into the all-time vault.

Good but...

I don't say this often but three books were enough, book four was over kill. I loved Justine and Nikolai but this book while I loved the deeper connection between the chat and families the added strife just killed it for me.

I’m obsessed with Shandi’s books, and Nikolai is no exception!
Justine is a defense attorney and finds herself being one of Nikolai’s attorneys.
Nikolai is the ultimate representation of sex, intrigue and mystery, while also displaying he’ll be your worst nightmare.
This man is arrested, then bailed out, and on the bail application he writes Justine’s address. So house arrest in Justice apartment it is 😅.
The sex toys scene? OMG!!! 😳
The thing is Nikolai’s father is the Devil, or maybe he isn’t is real father…. Yes! Maybe the Russian prince isn’t actually Russian🤫
Oh, did I mention when he is eating her out and she weaves her fingers through his hair, he pins her hands to her sides and growls: “a real man eats without assistance”.
No, well… what can I say the man knows what he likes and what he is doing 😅

This is a captivating mafia romance with plenty of twists and turns, danger, action, sexual tension.
We have love, lust, obsession, jealousy, angst, sex slavery, violence, action… what else could you possibly want?
We have the perfect duo. They are both strong characters! Justine is not innocent or weak. She is a fighter, smart, intelligent, sassy. Hunted by her scars (literal scars). And Nikolai is a crazy motherfucker, who teaches her to love them.
This is a series that will keep you hooked from the beginning.

* I love this series, and how it is connected with the Italian chronicles series, which I recommend for you to read the first three books before you read Nikolai.

Shandi is such a good storyteller. And the way she connects her series is brilliant!

OMG Shandi Boyes has done it again! Pure perfection!!!! We all thought Justine and Nikolai’s story was finished but Shandi knew how hard everyone fell in love with them and decided to fill us in on life after book 3 and I promise it will make everyone fall more in love with this series and the author!!

After reading book 3, we all knew Justine had it in her to take the throne beside her King and be the Queen he needed. In book four, we see this happen and she truly claims her throne in the most epic and emotionally driven way. She steps up when her King needs her and doesn’t back down. Sure, being the Queen to the Russian mob is a daunting task but Justine was fit for the role and does so in a fearless manner proving that she is a total badass just like her King.

This fourth and final book tells a passionate story and I couldn’t put the book down at all. I was totally enthralled by their relationship and the battles that arise in this book. Overall, I freaking LOVED it, as I do all of her books!

PS: CHAPTER TWO IS ALL NIKOLAI! Meaning there should be a cautionary disclaimer before reading because that man is seriously sex on a stick! Pure hotness!

I don’t know what it is but I really don’t like mafia books where the heroine ends up being heavily involved in mafia business.

I read these types of books because of the alpha-holes in them. But they start strong as then become weak. This last book was no different. I get the need to make a strong heroine but it detracts from the trope for me. I cannot fathom any mafia situation that soldiers would allow Justine to go with them on an ambush. And then she’s threatening etc.

I know lots of readers love that, but not me.

And I cannot read another line of “I’m his queen” or “she’s my queen”. FFS. Get a new line. The heroine was arrogant and full of herself. The hero was emasculated and not that scary.

Take those two out of it, the story had some strengths and bones to be a good series. The writer writes well and when there is dialogue, it’s good. Excessive use of inner monologue which is repeated is just annoying, especially when it’s Queen this and Queen that 🥱😖.

I see there is another book in this series which is basically book one from Nikolai’s POV. Won’t be happening for me.

WOW and OMG, this book did not disappoint!
This is the fourth installment in the series 'Nikolai' and what a rollercoaster ride this was!

It is a year on from the third book in this series, and it starts with an amazingly hot sex scene that had my brain so fried it took a bit to catch up in chapter 3.
The story is one of love and commitment, without ever undermining the true mafia heart of both the characters and the storyline.
I love Nikolai and Justine even more now. The way Justine got to show her strength and earn the respect of the Bratva, and how Nikolai got to show his softer side and true heart without ever undermining the killer instinct and Mafia King he is, was utterly phenomenal.
I shed a tear or two at the passing of Dok.

Shandi Boyes has done it again and delivered a book that had me on the edge of my seat unable to put it down. She truly is a master storyteller.
If you have read the other books in the Nikolai series you do not want to miss this exceptional finale!

This is not a standalone, books 1-3 must be read before this one!

At the end of the previous book, Nokolai and Justine got their happy for now, but it's quickly ripped away from them when something really big happens. There was a big mystery in this one and the pace seemed a but different, but in a good way. It's a tough emotional and action packed ride, but in the best way. Justine really steps up and shows what a great queen she can be.

This is the end of Justine and Nikolai's story and we still have Asher and Trey's stories to come. I really recommend this series, and look forward to reading more from this author. I didn't realise until the end of this book, but it's a spin off of the Enigma series, which includes Rico's story which I'm looking forward to diving into. There's also another series it's connected to from what I can see, so will be looking at those too. Glad I found this author while I was taking part in The Book Refuge's Mafia Romance Readathon.

The conclusion to Nikolai and Justine's journey had to be written with the King and his Queen beside him.
Nikolai has always been at his strongest with his Queen beside him, giving him the strength to show and feel compassion when she accepts him as the king and her King. Justine proves her love and strength and neverending support of him during all the violence and bloodshed of the life in the mafia.
Justine proves to be his true Queen with her strength and determination never giving up on Nikolai, her fierce protectiveness of those she loves and the lengths and the people she will go up against to protect her King.

I thoughly enjoyed the action suspence and the dynamics of these characters within the mafia families. Highly recommended read.

As I said in my other reviews, I absolutely recommend the entire series. It is a wild ride from start to finish. Nikolai Popov is a mafia prince and Justine Walsh is a fresh lawyer. This is a combination I have not seen in the many, many mafia books I have read and this was enough for me to start the series. I also really like that she put actual bits of Russian and Italian scattered throughout all four books rather than the English pronunciation of the words or phrases used. It's a small-ish detail that really added to the story for me. I read the entire series in about two days.

5/5 for plot, spiciness, banter, and suspense.

I wasn’t sure that a 4th book was needed but I was wrong, this was the perfect ending to Nikolai and Justine’s journey. Justine has always been strong, but in this book she is remarkable and truly deserves the title of Queen. Nikolai softens but does not compromise and his love for Justine grows beyond measure. There is a lot of violence and sex, of course, but it is written in such a way that it is not only not gratuitous, it is integral to the story. There are a couple of visits from characters in previous books and it was fun to see and at times moving. The ending is perfect and leaves thee reader feeling justice has been served and love will prevail over hate.

This was a terrific conclusion to Nikolai and Justine's story. Once again, a fast-paced, hold on to your seat book by Shandi Boyes. A page-turner that I couldn't put down from page one to the end, especially the last few chapters. One hot romance with a good-looking dominant Russian and a beautiful red-headed woman. Every woman wishes for a man like Nikolai, that will love them like no other. And wow what an ending, the last part of the book had me holding my breath guessing and hoping. So many emotions through-out the book. So many tough, confident, handsome men. What more could you want for an extraordinary ending to a series. Read it today!

Good Book

This is book 3/3 for Nikolai & Justine.
I can see the next books are about Asher and then Trey.
I have loved this book the most out of all 3 books, the storyline was good with the other bratva wanting to take over.
I liked how Dimitri always came through for Nikolai & Justine.
I did have a few questions though that weren’t covered for me in this last book so not sure if we are the answers in Asher’s book.
What happened with Maddox??
Was he a member of Dimitri’s crew and why did he take the blame for the alleged murder??
Is Rico back in the family or just for the revenge parts?
What happened to their wedding and when was it??
Otherwise I have enjoyed their story.

THIS IS A REREAD!

Such a good conclusion to the 4 books following Nikolai and Justine’s story!

Justine stole the show in this more than any other character and after everything she was put through, she freaking deserved it!
The fact that Nikolai continuously recognized Justine’s strength and natural leadership and quiet command, but also understanding that she deferred to him when necessary… just truly the best! They were perfect together.

I am so so so happy with the ending and I love the final epilogue. Nikolai and Justine deserved to have their happy ending.

Wow this part of their journey was amazing!

The whole series could have been better. Too much repetition killed it. Not just plot but words phrases everything.

As for this particular book the first half is al repetition and then lots of action happens and closed very haphazardly so lots of things were not well explained. Don’t bother about side characters. Lots of good plot potentials wasted on muscle flexing. IMO this book is unwarranted.

This book did not disappoint. I was left with the feels. Shandi is an amazing author. I've waited all year for this book. The love Nikolai and Justine have for each other is off the charts.
