Great illustrations and a cute story but the dog family has human friends. Story is to long for story time

It weirds me out that the dogs are upright, talking, human-like creatures, but there are also people. Who are the dogs' friends and classmates. Either have anthropomorphic animals, or people, for characters, but don't mix them all up. It's weird.

I also wasn't a huge fan of how Lisa interacted with the baby even when she started to like it. She peeled back the baby's eyelid and picked her up, all while unattended by adults. Small children really shouldn't be playing with infants unsupervised, so if you are looking for a book to help a child used to the idea of a new baby sibling, this probably isn't the best bet.
